NEW BLEED REMOVAL VST, OMG

I'm not particularly impressed by that video. But hey, if I try it out, and it's better than Fab Filter Pro-G, and the price is good, I'll get it.

Also, as for Melodyne DNA - it's amazing.

If it doesn't work as well as we all hope, this would still be an awesome tool to use before Trigger/Drumagog to get rid of any bleed before sampling. That would even make my life easier.

Aye, worst case scenario!

But I was quite impressed actually. I don't hear any real tonal alteration. Interested to check it out; on the Exegesis album I did last year, I had a fuck of a time controlling my tom bleeds!!:bah:

I honestly think this would be extremely useful in conjunction with Trigger, Drumagog, apTrigga, ect. just because of the fact that you wouldn't have to worry about bleed and can focus on the performance.

Hi guys,

I'm Kostas, I work with Accusonus, the company behind Drumatom. Let me provide some info.

First off, let me clear something up: Drumatom works as a standalone application, so all processing is done offline. It's based on a novel algorithm, which is simply too complex and intensive to be implemented in real-time at the moment. For those who like to know a bit more on that stuff: it's generally based on the concept of BSS (Blind Source Separation), combined with principles of other fields, such as psychoacoustics.

The small preview video is a demonstration of Drumatom in its most extreme settings on a typical snare track. You can of course tweak it to get the balance you like, according to your personal aesthetics.

We don't want to create any big hype or false expectations. Drumatom is a completely new technology, one we're really excited about. It's not meant to replace existing tools, it's meant to provide a unique option that will hopefully find a place in your arsenal. As with all tools, sometimes it will work great, other times it won't fit the sound you're going for. Eventually, there will be a demo available, so you'll decide for yourself.

Your feedback and comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

Thanks for the clarification Kostas. It does look like a useful tool to me that could save me a few hours of editing and cleaning per album. Does it work in conjunction with the other tracks (analysing the whole drum kit to remove bleed from separate channels?) or can it work the same with just one snare track for example?

It works by analyzing the whole drum kit. You load a drum multitrack into Drumatom and it does some analyzing / pre-processing. After that, you can select an individual channel (for example "floor tom") and tweak the knobs to get the balance you like. When you're done, you export the whole processed multitrack or individual files. Thanks!

I think this is an awesome experiment. I'm not at the point to where I am dealing with live drums, but I can still see how this will be extremely useful. For example, You could hone in on just the snare track without the bleed and get a more accurate mix for the individuals, save that preset, and re-import the original file and apply the settings without being distracted by the bleed. Appears fairly simple to use as well.

Kudos, Accusonus!
