NEW BLEED REMOVAL VST, OMG

Guys,

Here's a new video, somewhat longer this time, showing how Drumatom works in practice. Thanks for watching!

I think this is really cool, but it does degrade the original audio too much for my taste. Would very much like to see a function that converts all transient hits into MIDI. Then you can use that information to trigger gates in the DAW. Cubase has a good tool for this but you still need to go through everything manually and make sure it got everything right.

It does seem to kill a bit of high end, but since there's no bleed you can easily boost it back/add in some harmonic exciters without bringing up the bleed ;)

I'm wondering if that's some sort of "preview" audio or if the rendered audio sounds like that. I was about ready to call BS, but I hear it pretty clearly on the Snare Top - the roll off is pretty severe.

Hopefully they'll address it??

Trying it out right now. As expected, it's not totally perfect far from it, but could be a (very) good workflow improver depending on how you work. I need to play with it a bit more before deciding if it's worth the high price for me ($399).

I've been trying out the demo for the last few days mainly for snare top, and on more sparse beats it can almost completely remove the bleed, but anything busy or preprocessed (tracked through compression for example) it struggles a lot more. That said, though the results can be ugly when solo'd, in the mix you can get enough extra headroom to eliminate the need for samples, which is nice. Not sure if it's worth the asking price though.

I had the same impressions. Expecially when reinforcing the sound. I didn't try with shitty performances, though.
But for 400 USD I'll get some samples instead!

It works really really good on kick and snare, but on toms, since there are so little sections where the main instrument is actually played it's really struggling and the result is totally unusable. I wish we could select an area with tom hits for the analysis instead of the whole file.
