New Bring Me the Horizon

Don't be bitter crill, it looks sad.

Im not bitter and im not a BMTH fan either, although i liked Suicide seasons because of the awesome mix and for the fact that I where attending the recordings, which was a cool experience for me. And i think this single is a good song.

Im just saying that it's kinda funny that people are bashing one band so hard and then love another which to my ears are very generic.

Edit: I saw that you are playing in that "other" band. I wish you all the luck with your band, it was not intended as a bash, just a mere observation :)

I've been hearing a few tracks posted on youtube (they come up and then get taken down), practically the whole album. This album is absolutely incredible. I was actually surprised on how good it is, definitely buying this one once its comes out.

how is reverse dynamics asinine?
if the mix is getting louder during the soft parts, and quieter during the loud parts because of poor 2 mix compression that's not a good thing. IMO

oh well. if the songs are good and people dig em sweet! bmth are great.

Because "reverse dynamics" literally means nothing. It makes zero sense. Saying the mix gets louder during soft part and quieter in loud is different than making up phrases without explaining them.

I think this "reverse dynamics" these noobs were talking about is the sound the crappy youtube compression gives to some audio files

Ok I'll clarify my comment. I apologize.

Here's what I meant:

During a typical rock chorus, you have more guitars, more parts, synths etc going on than in a verse. If there's 2 mix compression poorly used, and the song enters the chorus, the song will actually get quieter because more elements are hitting the threshold of the compressor causing it to clamp down harder and perform more gain reduction. Then when going back to a verse, or "quieter" part of the song, and less elements are hitting the the compressor, its doing less gain reduction.

The deleted thread seemed to have a lot of comments about this, and that could be many things 1. bendeth made a mistake, 2. mastering made a mistake, 3. youtube compression

I don't think that's what's going on. Compression is applied after the signal hits the threshold, and doesn't expand downwards the as gain reduction applies. What you're saying is the more signal you put into a compressor, and closer to -inf you are supposed to get. That's not how it works.

love the use of words like 'cunt' and 'fuck' where the bass drops of yesteryear would have gone.

This. :headbang:
