So yeah i wanted to wait till we finished the rerecording of this song, but the latest session of the song was done in october and i dont think im going to be working on this song till after the ep is recorded and happy (which now has a deadline of before april yay!) so i figured i might as well post what i have of the song now which is still a healthy section of the song at about 5 minutes but is only about 2/3rds complete...

So this one is definitely different and will probably prove to be a love or hate kind of song but oh well, at least we dig it hehe! Oh yeah and the production isnt exactly up to speed cuz its an oct2006 mix but hopefully its fine for a teaser.

it just takes a little bit of TLC time with your pod and you can make a pretty crushing tone with it hehe! (also remind it that its very beautiful every now and then, that helps too!)
by the way i dont know how many of you dloaded the song but my singer jake told me while i was at work that i had uploaded the old version which sucks balls!
so i got him to fix it, so some of you may have heard the wrong clip, sorry about that!
but yeah check back to see if you got the good one or not.
the good one is around 5 mins long and the bad one is closer to 2 or 3 mins

I agree with LSD on the snare, it sounds a bit too smashed... but the rest of the mix is lush yo... nicely done!

Plus, i like this better then the meshuggah stuff you have done, that was good, but i like them metal songs that are more straightforward... and this is... nice melodies in the second half of the song...

as for the snare on ms dopp, i dislike it as well, i have since improved (at least to my taste) my snare sound, and on the letter experiment test, its a little better but not quite there, i think my best snare sound is on the latest version of seven hundred seven on the soundclick and i think thats the one im going to use for the final version of letter.

Guitars sound killer once again, I remember getting the POD XT after hearing your tone, but I have yet to get a decent sound out of it. I mainly use it for live gigs now, haha

Dennis is too busy. Moved houses, girlfriend from another country moved in with him, lots of paid work. He just finished work on the new Chimaira cover (which sucks, I think, but he said they picked the ugliest design he made - as always).

I will ask him about it!

Wow, very impressed by that guitar tone. I cantell it's a pod, but it's definetly one of the best pod tones I've heard. Ever.

Right on man! We sent him the mail and hopefully we will have a badass album cover haha! You have to get online more man!!

Impervious: haha thanks, i definitely dig the podxt sound, and i only really like amps that can replicate that at higher volumes (as in my powerball hehe). But yeah on the pod i like the big bottom amp and the v30 cabinet with the 421 mic i believe. Then i stick the fx boost or the tubescreamer in the stomp (similar results depending on which model packs you have). Then you just adjust eq and gain to taste!

awesome song.......since we are on the pod xt topic....i have a quick and probaly stupid question...i noticed it had USB out and 1/4 inch out......Now i know you need the usb to hook up too update and get packs from Line 6 but do you record into your DAW using USB or do you use just a guitar cord plugged into your interface????

I think it sounds great, the song is intense enough, that triplet-mania break at 2:40-ish is hysterical, man, great job overall! But the solo could use delay goddamnit, more delay!! Also (I get strange looks for asking this sometimes), do you enjoy Mike Oldfield? The solo reminds me of his 80s era works on many passages. Bravo!

knife: i honestly cant say i have heard of mike oldfield, if i was to have a listen what should i check out? As for the solo its a little loud as well, and i agree i think a little more delay would allow it to sit well in the mix!

zombie: i use the audio outs, although technically speaking leaving the signal as a digital one is better, i experimented with usb once and i had to use my podxt as the sound card which was sucky cuz my firepod is a much better soundcard hehe, and i dont want to switch back and forth, plus i didnt notice a loss or improvement in sound so i just do audio outs to the ins on my firepod (i have the bean, if i had the pro i would spdif it).
