New CD's that you have gotten recently

BLACK SABBATH - TYR

Woot!!!! We were just discussing this.
Found it still new. It is the import Classic Rock series press, not the IRS original.
This is from 99, and has a nice write up in it.

I think my copy of Tyr is an original IRS pressing... I think my Cross Purposes may be as well. But I know for sure my copy of Forbidden is, and same for the Cross Purposes Live CD/VHS combo. :goggly:

Tyr has the strangest printing on the actual CD itself of any album I have ever owned, IMO.

Dissection - Storm of the Light's Bane
Fleshgod Apocalypse - Labyrinth
Phillip H. Anselmo and the Illegals - Walk Through Exits Only (can't wait to hear the hate and flak I get for this one)
Watain - The Wild Hunt
The Winery Dogs - s/t

Doing some CD catch up as I have been behind this year and part of last year:

Cattle Decapitation - Monolith of Inhumanity
The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us is the Killer
The Ocean - Pelagial
Orange Goblin - Healing Through Fire
Pig Destroyer - Book Burner
Pinnick, Gales, Pridgen - S/t
Stratovarius - Nemesis
Volbeat - Outlaw Gentleman and Shady Ladies

It's your money, but if you choose to spend it on such garbage don't complain about not having $$$

Phil has some good taste in bands.

For the record, and this can be a whole separate discussion, I personally feel PANTERA was the worst thing to EVER happen to heavy metal. Period.

No razzling....
Pantera just opened the door for "tough guy" metal that changed the image of metal forever.
In an odd way, some could argue how much Pantera did for metal, and make valid points.
I just could never stand the band, and their fanbase, while I hate to stereotype, gave metal an even worse name for itself.

As for Glamtera, the only thing I will say is, it was not as commonly known as it is today that those albums even existed.

I remember seeing them a handful of times at a record convention but that's about it.
Of course years later it was seen more as CD bootlegs got popular.

We had that conversation last week I believe. I'll disagree. I like some Pantera songs, but I do feel they're the most overrated band metal has ever had. However, I love Down and his solo album intrigues me as it's very Gorgutsy.

If it wasn't them, it would have been somebody else. It would have happened eventually. Cowboys From Hell and Vulgar Display of Power are good albums.
