New Circle II Circle...

I am absolutely sure they will only have the CIIC ep available for the exact same reason they didn't release it during September as first planned. AFM does not want it to compete with Oliva's Pain release that month (as they both are on AFM).

It's a stupid rationale to me, but then again I'm only looking out for you folks while AFM has to worry about the rest of the world.

It's strange they don't recognize the majority of the audience is at least 30-something and can afford to buy more than one CD per month. That said, I'm no longer surprised by how bad some people are at running their own business.

With that being said though, as was said above, a large percentage of the people attending the pre-party and main event will probably buy this when it comes out anyway, so if they are worried about their soundscan numbers (and I'm sure they are) they will probably hold the CD's for the Oct. 13 street date.

If they were that worried about their SoundScan numbers, they'd know that bands selling CDs at a show or a venue CAN report those sales directly to SoundScan, as long as a venue representative concurs and signs the reporting form.

I know this, because I've signed such forms as a venue representative for Dragon*Con several times. And SoundScan pays attention: I've gotten called the following day by SoundScan reps..... "You have this band* listed as selling over 1,000 CDs at your event."
"Yep."
"How?!"
"Thirty thousand attendance; the ballroom holds 2,000, you do the math."

That band was the 2nd-biggest selling artist in Atlanta that week. :heh:

THanks for the info Glenn. It is stupid logic, as someone pointed out - a goodly number of the attendees can afford more than 1 cd per month. I wish they would have thought about it (the label) and said - Hey C2C is at a festival in Sept - is JOP on the road? No (he may be I'm not sure) then? Hey, lets flip the release dates on these to maximize availbility and exposure.

But that is just me - and I dont own a label (yet!)
Oh well, at least they will have something (EP) to sell and lead into the album release :)

AFM needs to understand that us crazy Savafolks will buy both! :goggly:

AFM could put out two-packs, containing both cds, specifically for ProgPower. Then, everyone who wanted to buy them could get them, possibly at a special price, and they'd be more likely to buy both.

You're welcome, AFM.

Chuck Norris would be proud of this ingenuity - heck, this is almost McGuyver-like in it's simple inventiveness and effectiveness :) Hope they read this idea and get to work shrinkwrappedn them two-fers.

Chuck Norris would roundhouse kick you in the face if he heard you compare him to MacGyver. :heh:
