Been listening to them a lot lately, so again:

I've always considered Pepper Keenan to be one of the best singers in metal, and music in general really. That doesn't even begin to discuss the riffs. Whoa man.

Every time I pick up a Gibson SG I play Albatross for about 20 minutes.

You can always count on two things from COC:

This is pretty different for them, and a lot heavier than I expected. Kinda sucks Reed Mullin left the band (I assume anyhow), I always loved that dude. Great minimalist drummer.

3) Along with Alice in Chains, one of the best "hey check out this last song" bands that ever existed. Holy fuck is that closing title track a monster (lurch is right), and that bit of feedback at the end reminds me of Sepultura - Altered State, 2nd best part of that monster album.

Good stuff, can't wait to fully envelope this album, then come home drunk some random Tuesday and piss off my neighbors with some Serious Bootstompin' Stoner at 3am.
