New Daath track

Killer track...I wish they would stop pushing the album back. Can't wait...

Killer track! I love that kick drum. Nice and meaty and the guitar tone is sick. :kickass: Not to mention the song itself is just a damn good song.

Great mix, great band, great tones, great song, great friends. I think these guys will be up there with opeth. Geniouses. And dare i say that emil is by far the best guitarist on roadrunner? Hes gonna blow people away, loomis fans in particular are gonna lose their minds on his lead playing.

Cool snare! bit of a middy production isn't it? i like it though!!
it's a sample i made by combining 4 samples i've had for a while... 2 from a D4, one from Bob Clearmountain, and one i took from a DW "sandwich" snare at the studio in Orlando.... i think Colin probably also blended in the original recorded snare, but i can't say for sure.

This stuff sounds amazing. This new song really sounds original and fresh and the production is great. Can't wait for the album to come out.

A question to Mr. Murphy:
May I ask you how you recorded the vocals? which mic, pre, compressor?

Does anyone else think that alot of Colin's mixes recently are lacking in the bass department (not the instrument itself, but the whole mix)? When I listen to the Daath demos James did, and whenever I compare James, Tue Madsen, Eric Rachel, Jason, or Andy's stuff to Colin's, Colin's seems to not be very bassy, and especially the guitars seem to lack some low-end. I love Colin's work, I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?
