OH was the meanest shit written in modern DM tbh. This sounds decent but there's no way it can hold its ground against OH. Still love Decap though, and always will!

I agree. I will back Decapitated no matter what....unless they go all "Hardcore and Radikult" on us I think I will always support them.
One of the coolest metal bands ever I think. Never met a person that didn't at least KINDA like Decapitated.

That, and the one album that they released in the last 5 years had -core vocals, and has probably had the least discernible influence on metal out of all their albums.

Anyway in more literal literal terms, it's great to hear a metal band releasing what appears to be a quality record in a scene thats otherwise filled with modern derivatives.

I was a bit disappointed with this new song at first (sounds like the same idea over and over again, leading nowhere, at first), but it's growing on me!
The ambient stuff in the end is great!
I miss Vitek and Covan, though... It's now obvious both made a big difference on the band's sound. But I like this new beginning!

Decapitated is a straight up technical death metal band. They are not trying to be "modern" or "genre influential" or whatever label we/I come up with. They want to kick people's asses in small venues across the globe. Comparing them to cutting-edge stuff like Gojira and Scarpoint is pretty pointless. It's a different game, the only common ground being that the music is always sick So it's better to judge them with other straight up technical-dm acts, instead of coming up with weird statements
