Have you ever danced with the devil
His temptation ever summoned you
Ever penned your name in blood
Let possession slowly swallow you
When you stand under full moonlight
The attraction mesmerizes you
Have you ever wondered why
It seems that evil you're attracted to
yessssssssss

I am with you.. I am so sick of listening to all the crying about this. Give Anthrax a fucking chance.. These are the guys that made the band what they are... I back what they are doing 100%.

They said that they are sick of playing the same stuff for the last 15 months, and want to bust out their latest material on to record.
I don't think these guys would last long in Anthrax.![]()

Well if I was playing Avenged Sevenfold, I wouldn't want to play either.![]()
Its sad that every ANTHRAX related thread seems to be pulled into this Joey/John argument whereas at this moment theres absolutely no question who is the bands frontman.
Agreed 100%. I've made my feeling known about the reunion in the past, that I supported it 100% ... for what it was. A REUNION. It's gone beyond that now, and its getting old, really quickly. I always thought that a quick tour, and back in the studio with the Bush-thrax lineup was the plan. I honestly think its a backwards step. I'll support whatever Anthrax do 100%, and I always will. Its Anthrax for fucks sake. I know how Scott has always said, that if they didn't do the reunion, there wouldn't be an Anthrax, but I can't help feel that if they go ahead with an album with this lineup, that we'll still end up with no Anthrax. As fans on a public message board, we have a right to our opinion, and in this thread alone, we seem to be evenly split. While I agree with this part of your statement, I think to compare people on this board to children who can't get a toy is little harsh. You have to remember that many people here became attached to the music created by the Bush line-up. I can respect their feelings about this, even though I have supported the reunion from day one. While I do agree that the argument should be over by now, I totally get why they're not happy. I hope that when they do release a new album, the "bashers" will at least give it a chance though.
It's this part of the original post I don't understand. I have not seen any polls ANYWHERE that show a 10:1 spread in favour of the reunion.spacebeer said:I don't get all the anti "classic" line up sentiment here, it's really only here that it''s that strong everywhere else in a poll people would favour the classic line up by 10:1, and this is not something I am just saying, just take a look around.

Indeed just give em the chance, people should quit bitching about it after more than a year. It's all OK with me if you like John Bush, go and listen to Amored Saint they rock!.
I really think it has become pathetic after more than a year, like a 10 year old thats told by his parents he cant have a certain toy and just keep on whining about it. Its sad that every ANTHRAX related thread seems to be pulled into this Joey/John argument whereas at this moment theres absolutely no question who is the bands frontman.
I also agree that you cannot say much about these demos, they are lo fi and just samples of riffs, definitely not full songs yet. Cannot wait to hear the final result, all I can say that the riffs as they are sound pretty cool, not really old nor new school.

Did you seriously think it was only a one time deal? Once you make that step, you can't go back. As soon as I heard the rumors I knew Bush and Rob were out.
As far as the 10:1 thing, nothing I have seen can back that up. I will say that they probably had a lot of older fans that came back into the fold because of the reunion, and at least 50% of the John Bush people stuck around, which in the end is a net gain in fanbase. Plus, they have gotten good exposure with the younger crowd with Madhouse being featured on Vice City and Guitar Hero II.
Another point that some of you may have considered: For whatever reason, call it bad luck, bad decisions, or both, Anthrax always seem to have gotten the short end of the stick. However, for the first time in recent memory, I think their timing is right. There is a big resurgance in the old-school thrash/metal sound, and the original line-up fits into that scene perfectly. Priest and Maiden have essentially created 2nd careers for themselves, and if Anthrax can put out a great record that gets some play I think they can do well. I can name at least 5-6 new bands that are heavily influenced by that sound and have the momentum. Heck my cousin has a great college band, and the best day of his life was when they got a new 20 year old guitar player that could play Van Halen licks behind his head and shred like there is no tomorrow.
I've always loved all incarnations of the Anthrax (Hey, I thought Scott was the singer when I first got into them: PROTEST AND SURVIVE!!!) so I'm happy either way.

That's awesome that your cousin's band got a real guitar player. I'm no virtuoso myself but most guitar players just can't shred here in DC. I've been trying to "get into the scene", but it's hard when I go to the shows and they just don't sound good. Nobody is moving, nobody is awed, and people are yawning and trying to look cool. The band keeps playing the same song with a different hook to aptly call it another song and it just gets so old so fast. Goddamnit, I have to start a new band real fucking soon before I go postal.

Just one of many...

now all go and register so you can "correct" the poll!
I was pretty serious, I visit a lot of (thrash) metal boards.
And where does it say that a reunion needs to be temporary? I really hope for a new ANTHRAX record in the classic line up, as they promised on tour last summer. I always bought ANTHRAX's albums also when they had John on vocals except "vol 8" which was too weak IMO.
That poll doesn't impresss me in the least. We're talking about some obscure thrash metal site here which had a 29 voter turnout, half of which are probably losers that live in their parents' basement and haven't bought a CD since the inception of an affordable CD burner that their parents bought for them.
Or is it the same one?
