New Evergrey - Feb

It's kind of odd, I always felt bad for not liking TIC because there are a few good songs on there, but the rest really felt like Evergrey by numbers. Nothing new, nothing that made me shit bricks like I did the first time I heard ISOT.

I kind of doubt they will get that back. It was a strike against them when they lost Patrick, now they've lost Henrik too. Beh!

I Saw the first of the studio web blogs and the music sounded awesome, granted it will not be better then Torn(their previous record) but it will still be worth buying.

I've never met an Evergrey album I didn't like and I don't think one will be any different.

So which Evergrey cd's do you guys recommend? I saw them a few years ago opening up for In Flames and I thought they gave a great performance.

Apparently Bergstrand is mixing the album

It's possible. Those natural drums sound horrid, and guitars phasey/distant as hell. It's like they're trying to recreate The Apostasy. Don't really like the saturation on the vox either.. they have a really nasty midrange break-up, like he's singing through a phone.

I really hope not, because if the Meshuggah album sounds even 1% like this I will go homicidal.

Haha. The small clip i heard i agree with you man, sounded really bad. But it sounds for sure like Bergstrands mix, uggly guitars and that strange kind of snare sound :S btw Its up on Bergstrands webpage/discography.
