This track is going to be preview'd on local radio so im just getting something that will stand up to a good preview really, (its on wednesday). Thought id let other people have a listen before I judge the final myself. Its also a quickish mastering job just to get a ready, its not insanely loud either! Wheeeey!

Its a 128mp3 (apologies) however ill bump it up with the final version, just saves space for now.

Wow that sounds great:headbang:
What did you use for the guitar and drums?
I like the mix:worship:

Thanks man!

Drums were DFHS (1.0) with Slate kick and snare (Great samples!!) , guitars quad tracked, Peavey 6505 & Mesa Dual Recto, Framus Cab, 1 SM57, Focusrite Saffire pro interface, thats about it :Smokin:

Sounds pretty good.
The drums tend to stick out too much for me though.
I would blend them a bit more with the guitars.
Maybe raise the rhythms a tad and add a little bit of reverb to the snare to let it breathe abit.

Ive got a shit load of verb on that snare and it just isnt cutting through, any ideas? :kickass:

Link updated, I think it sounds better, more verb on the snare, had a fiddle with the kick and re-hashed the vocals a bit, guitars up a touch also.

I'd say add some synths, and you could be in SYL territory with this dude! Fucking rocks needless to say!

Synth's in thrash? SYL sounds good dude, second song has more synthy type stuff in it when the singer dosent have an endless "cold" so he can't record until this weekend. *crosses fingers*

As I told you on msn, I meant synths because it really seemed to give an SYL kinda vibe from the initial few riffs.

Fucking Great! :heh:

Guitar Signal Chain and Settings. Not that I have a dual Rec but I have a 5150. I'm always curious.

Thanks man :kickass:

Signal chain was....

LTD WA-600 (SD JB/59') -> SD-1 -> Peavey 6505 -> Framus Dragon 4x12 -> SM57 - Focusrite Saffire Pro 10 I/O -> Nuendo 3

Other half was....

LTD EX-351 (EMG 81/85) -> SD-1 -> Dual Recto and the same as above.

Settings as far as I remember:

SD-1: Tone 12'oclock, Drive OFF, Level 11'oclock

Peavey *puts on thinking cap*....

Lead channel: Pre-gain 4.5, Low 6, Mid 3.5, High 5ish, Post 3ish, Res 8, Pres 9

Dual Recto: Red channel (Diodes/Bold)

Pres: 9 o'clock, Gain: 1'oclock, Bass: 1'oclock, Mid: 11:30, Treble: 12 o'clock, Channel master: Around 11:30 I think.

:Smokin:

What Sate samples did you use on the drums?

Also was there any post eq or compression on the samples?

Love the sound you got here man!

Kick 15 and snare 15, Slate has re-done snare 15 for his new pack which I cant wait to try out because he wasnt happy with it but it fits this stuff better than the rest.

Yeah I always need to add some more top end to the snares and a pointer with the kick, try and knock out some 4-5k on kick 15 to take the "harshness" click out of it. It gives it a nice smooth well rounded sound, from what ive found. I also used a low shelf from 100hz -2.6db to tighten things up in the faster parts. I didnt use any compression on the samples themselves, parrallel comp and a bit on the drum bus is all that was used.

Cheeky bastard Stee lol

We split the 2 songs by guitarists so this song was played by Lee (other guitarist) and the next song was me.

We have a bit of footage we put together during the tracking, if your interested. Not much for the tecchy folks however. Its mainly comedy to be fair. Might give you a laugh at least!
