New interface:Focusrite saffire pro 40 + mp3

Got a new interface yesterday.
It does everything it does beyond my expectations... So that's great
Install took about 5 minutes and everything worked as it should.
Preamps sound great and have LOTS of gain. Very clear high end too.
I recorded a little soundclip. Please don't mention the vocals. It was just to test the gain with an sm57. (bad idea though, gain knob was all the way down because otherwise it was clipping lol)

Grats on new gear day, those are always the best days of the year! Especially when everything works right away...I'm usually not that lucky.

Btw, don't sm57s usually require a lot of gain? I need to turn my profire 2626 to about 3 oclock to be able to use them properly! Does the saffire pro have a -20db pad?

SM57 do need a lot of gain.
But since it has proximity effect too... Put it in your mouth and scream your ass off and you don't need that much gain anymore haha.

Killer interface man, you'll love it. Now I wish I didn't have a motherboard with a NForce4 chipset (can't get it to work without crackles and pops every 5 minutes even with another firewire card and all) - but who cares, that's another story.
