New Maiden leaked....

It is their best theyve put out in a long time thats for sure and it rocks hard. the Last three songs make one of the best endings to an album Ive heard in quite a while. Espcially the Legacy.

I'll admit, the more I listen, the better it gets.

I actually only dislike 3 songs on the album now:

Brighter than a 1000 suns, Longest Day, and Pilgrim. Then again, every Maiden album has always had a few duds.

These Colors Don't Run is probably my fave, but it has that neverending mid-section piece that goes on and on and on...BUT, this is the closest they've got to making a 'classic' Maiden song.

From what I understand, the lyrics throughout are genius, so I better buy it and get that DVD too. :loco:

Oddly enough these are my faves ... no beer for you :loco:
The way Bruce handles The Longest Day ... the verses ... awesome!

and fucking Circuit City was already sold out of it this morning when I went to pick it up. They probably only received 2 copies though, who knows.

Haha....to me those are the songs Maiden can write in their sleep. Anyway, I admit to coming round to this album so who knows what I'll like after another 10 listens.

[side point: I really am intrigued to see how Bruce is going to handle this material live].

I wonder if there's a circuit city near me. I'll just buy wherever convenient though, I'm not worried about saving a buck and change.

you guys are going to kill me for this ... but this is the first one I think that has no fillers per se.

will it give us huge classics down the line ... maybe, maybe not ... but this is the most "flowing" disc from them in a lot of ways. I can only compare it to Powerslave in terms of "HUGE"

I won't say it's the FIRST one with no fillers, since I consider most of their essential stuff to be filler-free, but I agree that I can easily listen all the way through. I love it. LOVE IT.

Ali, you don't like Pilgrims? I think that may be one of my faves. :erk:

Is that with the bonus DVD?

Best Buy has it w/ the DVD for $9.99.

no, it's the plain vanilla one ... if BB has the DVD one for $10 ... I am there after work.

got it at BB ... they even had a patch inside the package ... a "BB only" bonus ... wowaweewa ... now, where's my dirty old denim jacket?

I've done a near 180 on the new Maiden!!!

All the songs I once thought were average are now good.

All the songs I once thought were good are now great.

All this fluctuation in opinion has continued over approx. 12 listens. (I still will never understand, or indeed recognize value in, a review written after only 2 -3 listens of ANY album).

I wonder if this is what happened with Brave Words Bloody Knuckles? This magazine has always bathed in all Maiden glory and yet they thought the album was only average (like I did initially). I think they went to print too soon....

BM trashed it as well ... but then again DOn Kaye, that ole fart, reviewed it and he always had questionable skills reviewing shit.

I'm digging it. I gave it a 5/6. It lacks a song like Paschendale that really blows me away, but it's more even than their last couple records, and it's obviously a quality effort. A real grower, seems like.
