Ok, so I have been busting my ass to get these new songs going, just to keep everyone in the know, I have about 3 new songs one is basically done except vocals/lyrics the other 2 have all the drums/piano and synth done, with the exception of some minor arrangement issues. Need to start with guitars in the next few weeks. I plan to get the band in the studio by the end of the summer. And I hope to have working demo samples up in 1 months time for you all to hear. :kickass:

This is a big goal, so don't kill me if it takes a bit longer lol.

The album tittle is still "A Beautiful winter" and the theme will be about the end of the world, global meltdown, polar shifts, death, doom and other nice topics. I am trying to go with a concept album, but we'll see what happens. :erk:

Ha ha ha!

No when I record demos, I use a drum machine, but for the final mix, our Drummer Dan Clarke will be on that shit!

Yeah, because people from the band don't post (because they are gay) You may think it's just a solo thing, but theer are actually 8 members in the band currently, drummer included.

Eight members? Where'd you learn to count? We're back down to 6 from 7 prior to the slacking/blowing off of the band by the 3rd guitarist. I say we stick with 2 gee-tars and debate on female singer down the road.....and we aren't gay. YOU sir, are gay with all your wooga booga talk!

Well, We are working with Jeff for 3rd guitar parts, and he is very very capable, and yeah I guess 7. Though we have a new singer interested in going to a practice. possible 8th.

To all non band members, yeah it's a revolving door of members fighting for the 3rd guitarist and Lead female vocal position. -Always lol, What a nightmare! lol!!!!

Hey Ari! Welcome to the SOB board bro! I think we may go with 6 Media, depending on his availability. Same place we did the Skepticism tribute. I was very happy with that recording, Have you heard that yet?

i have, i think that one sounds a bit better than most of the other Shroud stuff i've heard. not my favorite production/guitar sound ever, but it's your band, not mine :p :kickass:

Ha ha ha, Grim production is where it's at. lol. I think we won't be headed that way anytime soon though. I think we are just going for better production than the Skepticism tribute. I loved that recording, especially the drums, the snare hits are just thunderous! I think a bit more work on the guitars and some more time with the mix this time around.

Depends

We never had that option to the extent I am talking about.

Our engineer/co producer did most of the stuff via emails, and with the split we were so pushed for time, I didn't even get all the guitars done, let alone mix it in room. The Skepticism, we just had him make 3 mixes, as again, we were under a rush situation. The ABH album, well that was done with me in a different studio with there closer, but still not in charge.

The new stuff, I will be there till the end, as Production really should be exactly the way we want it, and there will be no time restraints this time around.

This will be a non stress process, as I want this to be a pentacle in wich we have set as a margin for future projects. Thing is, being the only writter in the band, it may take some serious time to finish lol.

So, In the last 3 weeks or so, If yall didn't know, I got laid off ( I am collecting and doing fine Kinda) Anyways, I moved my studio and all my instruments, Guitars, Bass, Keys, drum Machines (Yeah, I have 3) To the jam room, and it was just the best thing I ever did. I have had so much time to dig right into the writting for the new SOB album (and others lol) That My origional ideas are just the beginning and I have just got some great fucking ideas, and I can't wait. Anyway, the going back to work thing (see the thread I made today) Has just thrown a monkey wrentch into my plans, as I was just working on music for like 15 to 20 hours a day, Now back to work and back to being so tired the writting takes the back burner again...fuck!!!!!

The good news is, this is going to be one epic fucking record!

I have never had so many sick ideas!

You will not be let down.

I am working with a conceptual melodic theme throughout the album, that will be very climatic and chaotic at the same time. I don't want to give away any surprises just yet, but stay tuned!
