I just got my hands on 2 Rode NT5..a stereo set :)..made me sooooooooo happy....

Anyway...after that I took some quick pictures of my desk and room where I do my stuff....I just moved everything, so it's a bit of a mess...and I still need to get my rack to put my 19" stuff in....

I now have 1 MOTU1224, and I want to expand with another, and a good mic pre in front of it...any ideas? (Seizure ;) would come again with the Audient :)....so any other thoughts)
Also, I want to get some room mics when recording drums....more ideas on that are also welcome!

I've been using NT5s on OHs for the last 2 years. Sound frickin great. The DMC track on my site/myspace has them on OHs, so you can check em out there, after processing and all.

They're naturally a bit hyped in the highs which means they lend themselves well to cymbal mic applications, and also bottom snare mic'ing.

Completely agree 100%. For some reason, I was always a mic snob when it comes to tracking drums...I always used either c12s or u67s for my OHs. However I did some recording for a friend and he had those, and they blew me away! Now I use them all the time for ride/hat mics in place of my 451s. You're gonna love em I promise.

Daunt - thanks for that! I'm really digging how little kick gets in, and how present the cymbals are over the snare, as well as the nice image of the toms.

I know what I'll be picking up for OH's.

Still...how do you like the RP6's Animal?

:D

Sorry man, was out for some days.
Uhm..overall I really dig them man...I think they sound pretty good with what you need to hear and with what you need and want to do with them.. No bad word about them..

Thanks for allready posting those samples Daunt. I actually still need to hook them up and test them out. Didn't have the time for that yet!!! I will also post some samples then...
