Ok, This is about 90% dual racktifier and 10 % 6505. I still need to reamp the 6505 which is pulled way down in the mix (You can here the lower level at the end). Let me know what you think.

I did a shoot out with Ryan's SM7 and TLM 103 which I will be posting soon. With a Vid.

Thanks for your input as always.

Click really? I must be def, :). Ive worked on this mix log enough I should be. I have concerns about the low mids, hoping i didn't scoop too much.

I think it sounds great. I'm not listening to it through good headphones so I'm not sure about the kick click. I personally like a bass kick that stands out on the low and high end.

Guitars sound great dude, though a bit...distant? I dunno, hard to describe, I guess I'd just like 'em a bit more "in my face" (teehee) - what all did you use? And I agree with Ryan about the clickiness on the kick. Also, the vox are too loud IMO, but sound great, and I really dig the singer's voice too, brutal as all hell! (and no BREEs praise jesus :D). Snare could come up a tad, and have some more snap/air, but overall, it's solid man!

I took your suggestions so is another mix , same band different song.. I will post my chain and 6505 / Dual Recto settings soon. Way too much work right now to get it all set up. But I promise ill post soon, along with a SM7 TLM103 shootout video if any of you are interested.

A police /anti-government hate song. :)

That mix of subhuman is missing a lot of lowend.....

Really? Where at? Can you give me more specifics, 120hz, 80hz 40hz etc..? What are you listening through? I think the low end is spot on. It is referenced with other industry standard tracks and the bass is actuality a loader according to PAZ.

That leads me to another question how is GameOvers low-end. Because the bass frequency are eqed and compressed just the same as Subhumans.

Im a bit perplexed by this.

Low-end is fine. I'd maybe like to hear it a little beefed up in the low mids, but that's about it.

Bro, this productions sounds nice and fucking raw (in a good way). It's very refreshing!

What's the chain on the vocals? I like whatever compressor you used. Sounds fucking siiiick.

Guitars fit the mix PERFECTLY. Everything sounds good, really. Drums aren't my cup o' tea but again, they fit the mix perfectly.

Kinda agree with Postmortem on the low end, though I think it's mostly because I feel the kick sample is too thin (FWIW though, my monitors roll off at around 70 Hz, though I still think that's lower than most consumer systems ;) Depends on what your goal with the mix is though! Just to get that disclaimer out of the way :goggly: ). Guitars sound really undergained though, especially obvious when that riff comes in first in the right channel, than the left (and it sounds like there's a bad edit in both of those parts); sounds to me like you had the treble around 1:00, which is how I ran it on my 2 ch. before I realized I really needed more gain, so I dropped the treble down to around 11:30, which helped tame the harshness/fizz added by the extra saturation, but it still wasn't perfect IMO (so I sold it). I know it seems like it has gain because of the crunchiness, but it's the lack of sustain on the palm mutes that give it away IMO.

Anyway, I feel the bass guitar is very well balanced, so it doesn't need to be touched, but yeah, replacing (or augmenting) that kick with something with some more beef would help IMO! (and as I mentioned, I'm not a fan of the clickiness, but I guess that's just a taste issue). And DAMN I love that vocalist's voice (and the production)

yeh dude I like this a lot, so ballsy and aggressive. Same view on the clicky kick for me. Small tip for the snare - try quite an eq like the massey vt3 (if you're on PT) or even the moog one for boosting the top end - you'll get a really nice natural snap to that snare. If you get anything weird poking out then notch it out but that will make that snare OWN! Fuck yeh apart from that... the singer sounds like a double-hard-bastard too

yea in subhuman when the guitar is by itself it sounds super undergained, although it wasn't bothering me in the mix. were those two separate settings? i think we all want to know what's going on with the vox chain here, as they sound fucking unreal. although it's clear that that dude is just damn good... definitely wanna hear the shootout!!

It sounds great! +1 about the clickiness of the kick though. Sometimes its better than others. Ractifier settings plz? I'm getting mine ret00b'd and modded so I need some good reference points for my new clips.
