new My Dying Bride album sample

Haha! Yeah, no more full beard at the moment. My wife calls them "Elvis" side burns, and a 3 inch goatee. Oh, and 30 pounds lighter. I'm looking like a nut lately.

Looks badass. :headbang:

I used to have mine tied back most of the time when it was long too. It was even tied back in my wedding photos. My wife wanted me to have it cut for the wedding, but I wanted some nice pictures of me with long hair to show my kids. :heh:

What have you been doing to lose the weight, Paul? Is it diet, exercise or a bit of both?

^ Nice pic, very metal.

Larry does your hair not piss you off, its soo long, must get in the way.

Let me ask you........
What is it about MDB that doesn't click for you?
Vocals? Tempo? Just curious.
It's a bit of everything, but nothing specific. In the end, the songs don't grab me.

Interestingly, although I'm not a fan, I'm always curious to hear their new discs. They're clearly capable of creating some monumental music. The atmosphere on "The Wreckage Of My Flesh" is just brilliant.

I'm on the best diet in the world... Diabetes! I had no choice but to cut ALL sugar from my diet, as I was dangerously close to a diabetic coma (like 45 points away). A compete lifestyle change had to be made and it's taking time for me to adjust to it, but I feel a LOT better over all now. A lot of heath issues I was suffering from (not including the spine disease) has cleared up now that we found the diabetic issues, and are getting it all under control.

Sure on occasion it gets in the way but truthfully it doesn't bother me. I've had long hair since I was 15, so that's 21 years of having long hair and I guess it's just something I'm totally used to. You've seen pics/vids of me live onstage and it can get pretty crazy when I'm headbanging and all that, but otherwise it's pretty manageable.

And Paul, Jess will probably be with me at practice sunday so you can chat her up then LOL

Wow! Glad you seem to be coping with it so well, man. Sounds like you dodged a bullet there!

I don't know about over in the US but over here with our better quality beers most of the sugar turns to alcohol, so it's an excuse to get the refrigerator stocked with the good stuff! :)

Can diabetics really drink?

I thought there was something about people who were diabetic couldn't drink or really had to watch how much they drank...

idk maybe i'm just pulling that out of my ass...

well, Warrel from Nevermore was in the hospital because of how much he drank... he found out he was a diabetic and cut back, then lost all of the weight he gained through the years

With all the shit I've been dealt in life, I've learned years ago just to go with the flow, and make the best of it. It sucks, but honestly, it's not nearly as hard or as bad as I thought it was going to be. The sugary drinks like Coke, and shit like that was the hardest to give up. I would drink that shit non stop. I tried a TON of diet drinks, and I hate the after taste of Aspartame, and I found something I actually can't tell is diet, and that's the Arazona Diet Green Tea, made with Splenda, and that has honestly made this very easy on me.

I can't drink alcohol in large amounts, often. A beer or two from time to time isn't going to kill me, especially since I've got things basically under control now. Medication and diet has brought my blood sugar down from 400 to 80. A HUGE drop.
