New Nevermore samples... FUCKING NEVERMORE

absolutely can't wait, warrel's lyrics are going to be top-notch (from what I could tell from his snippets on twitter). the riffs are sounding great too.

and yes, this record is all loomis. who knows what the touring cycle will bring but the record itself is loomis.

Yeah I about shit myself when I found this clip...
I love hearing the studio banter and here's hoping to someone bringing a fucking camera to the sessions for a dvd with the cd.
That would be dank!

I'm also going to register my love for Steve Smyth's music both in and out of Nevermore.

You only need to listen to the first Esseness Project album to know what a quality musician he is.

I'm another lover of Smyth's playing/composing skills. A Future Uncertain just has so much feeling to it IMO. Not checked out these clips yet, but I will.

I like the riff and the guitar to my ears has a character similar to those on TGE...

kinda ;)
although I saw him posing in front of the powerball.

the SE is a good amp actually.

Oh so there is a worthy ENGL? :)
What do you think of Blackmore top?

Really? According to my WMP info (yes I downloaded it, but legally from Amazon mp3, thank you :D) Smyth co-wrote Bittersweet Feast, Sell my Heart for Stones, and A Future Uncertain, and I really dig those songs! (especially the last one, it's one of my favorites on the album tbh)

Smyth really fitted the band seamlessly, both with his playing and songwriting, too bad they parted ways...

I hope the songs and the solos have the awesome feeling of the ones on Dead Heart in A Dead World.
The last 2 albums have cool songs and solos, but in my opinion they lack the feeling there is in DEIADW (expecially the solos). In that album there are shreddings but with the right flavour, there aren't exaggerations like the solos on the last one (impressive solos, but IMO they lacks something, they are only ultra-tecnique and speed)

I simply cannot express the amount of disagreement with your statement :D

Yup, I think the songwriting is WAY stronger on TGE compared with "Dead Heart" personally! (never been overly keen on any of Loomis' solos, so it doesn't matter to me - often too wanky for my tastes, but his licks are another story!)

While I haven't noticed the solos in recent albums lacking anything compared to DHIDW I do agree that musically they weren't as good/consistent.

I honestly think that 4 walls is the only good song on Dead Heart. River dragon has some good parts as well, but I cannot even begin to understand the hype surrounding that thing.

"IS THIS JUSTICE? IS THIS THE AMERICAN WAY?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

FACEPALM :erk:  The rest of the song rules though at least!
