New stack or new monitors?

Debating between a Krank Rev Jr Pro & a good 2x12 or HSM80s and Presonus Monitor station for my next purchase.

Currently mixing on M-Audio Deluxe Bx5s and Ultrasone HFI-450 phones.

Dig the phones. Not so much my monitors- The HS80Ms seem to be the best for the price and many on the forum would agree, I'd say.

I have no amp. Just jamming out with the Roland Cube 30 and using Lepou sims and Catharsis impulses when tracking.

I'd like a good amp to use for sessions and be able to actually mic something up- but I feel like the BX5s aren't helping me at all either. My room is untreated, but will be soon. Also, getting the monitor station would help with monitoring while tracking with the extra phone outs.


Just wondering what you guys think would benefit me more.

I'd say go for the monitors as you can still get decent tones with ampsims. You can have the best amps in the world but if you can't mix because you don't have reliable speakers to reference you are doomed.

I figured that would be the better idea- I could just reamp with one of you guys if needed.

Wanted to get a good bass, sansamp, cymbals and different things like that so if a band wanted to pay a small deposit and use things they could- just trying to get that all listed for the most important things.

Then you get all FAWK I WANT IT ALL NOW... gas
