New Suicide Silence

Is not about try to make people not enjoy it, just to try to show them that there are more bands than Whitechapel, and Suicide Silence, must people only know those bands, and think is something new, and just for that nothing is better, they even don´t listen to other bands, just because are old bands, or their logo arent like Crayola made, or they don´t have enough t-shirts to made, that´s so closed minded, i don´t know if i making clear myself here, but i`ve seen these kind of kids, Metal is so wide for just have eyes for a couple popular bands, and some people like to invite young generations to know how vast are metal, and maybe enjoy metal in their lifetime, not only when they are teenagers.

What it is a Fact, is that deathcore is a fashion, you have to agree with me on this, and so was Metalcore, and before that Nu metal, you know. i just like to see all this dethcore bands to stay alive more than 5 years, and making good and better music, not just something old and give new names.

While that's mostly true, this is no great loss for metal in general. 10% of those people will go on to find more great bands and become lifelong metalheads. The other 90% are only there for the "scene" anyway and will move on to something else shortly.

Cheers to Suicide Silence for hittin that shit and taking their money in the meantime.

agree + mitch is hot:)

I love The Cleansing, but only because it's fucking awful, if that makes any sense?
It's SO bad it just becomes a whole lot of fun.

Dissapointed on the guitar production on this mix. The Cleansing is a badass producton and actually pretty perfect for the music. Dense, filthy, naasty production. Utterly perfect, and this track just sounds wayyy to clean. Where's the fucking filth?
This song is sort of cool though. Just what I'd expect from Suicide Silence, godawful, chuggachug shit deathcore that I manage to find an enjoyment for somehow.

never heard of a band that wanted to sound repetitive... but ok lol

I've been to one of their shows and the pit was fucking nuts. I had to sit out cause I'm only 5'10" and everone there was at least a foot taller than me...and wider than me (muscle wise) haha

gtfo bro haha.
im 6'1 but I'm skinny as fuck. wayyy underweight. i can hold my own in any pit haha.
i wouldnt expect to get harmed in a suicide silence pit anyway. loads of 14 year olds trying to be ninjas i expect, stupid fucks.

"deathmetal for kids who hate deathmetal"
This is so true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If suicide silence would be a bunch of 35 years old, drunken metal heads no "scene-kid" would ever listen to them.

For all the "new-school" HC kids who dance to the "breakdowns"

these aint real HC breakdowns, this is deathmetal-downtempo!!!!

But the kids noa days think: They have plugs in the ears, tattoos, nice haircuts, crazy coloured shirts, vans shoes.............this must be a new form of HC:)

I´m not much into this music but I hope people like those bands about the music, because this would be cool for older (real) deathmetal bands.

Like people loving Comeback kid, have heart, verse.......and the result was:
reunion tours, gorilla buiscuits, cro-mags, .......

I don't understand everyone's problem with Suicide Silence... I mean yeah, they're not classic death metal. But neither are Chimaira or Devildriver, yet no-one really seems to have a problem with either of those bands...

The way I see it, is Suicide Silence's main crime is being popular, which you can't really blame them for... Having met them a couple of times, they are all really nice guys, who are actually in it because they like playing the music that they play.

Some people in this thread have been saying they're not doing anything new or innovative... Who is these days? And if they are, does anyone actually like it?

I don't see the problem with a band taking influences from older death metal and bringing it into the 21st century, and more importantly into the public eye at all.

More power to 'em for being as successful as they are. It's hard enough to make a living as a touring band these days anyway.

New song is still boring though...

So what would constitute "real" death metal? If they are making music that people enjoy, who cares?

Do they need to have long hair, been around for 10 years, and be a benchmark example of their style to be "real" death metal?

Maybe I'm getting old, but I don't understand this elitism in metal. If it's good it's good. If you enjoy it, you enjoy it...if not, then move along!

OK Lemme set everyone straight.

Yes, they are popular. I have advocated popularity so that's not a hit against them in my book. For fucks sakes I ADVOCATE selling out I 'll quote myself " I've been trying to sell out for a while now."

That's not my beef with them,.

I was one of the ONLY cats on here that liked playing for fun. Remeber the "bands are work" thread??? I said that it should be kept fun. Once again not a strike against them.

Chimiara and Devildriver don't market themselves as death-anything. Which makes that point pretty useless.

ALL I'm saying is that if you took these guys' fans for the most part and showed them some death metal. Not necessarily OLD death metal- just plain old death -metal minus the scene, and core, and whitebelts and xxsmall shirts they would prolly not dig it.

I say that cause I know that a bunch of people like them, but when I bring up suffo, or origin, or vomit the soul, or whoever the fuck else, Spawn of Possession etc. They just shrug and go "meh".

I just think it's death metal marketed at kids that don't like death metal.

I'm all for heavy shit being popular I just think this band is turning death metal into a mockery of itself, which if we are honest, is pretty fucking impossible cause it's so silly anyway haha.

I just don't like em. Same with Whitechapel, and Impending Doom and Carnifex etc etc etc etc.

Theres no need to debate it really.
I have no problem with them as people, I think bringing up they are cool dudes has nothing to do with their music. I bet they are really cool people, buit that doesn't m,ean I'm going to go buy their CD.

i do appreciate SS... and Carnifex and Whitechapel as well.... but i still 100% agree with Chryst Krispies basic points. there is no call for a debate.

Yeah, I see your point and have echoed similar to my friends before. My whole point is if people like it, who cares really. I do admit it can be frustrating when you try to turn these kinds of people onto some classic death metal.

how weak is it to diss them because they're deathcore :p
i like death metal and deathcore.. dm for kids lol. slipknot is death metal for kids, deathcore is.. well. deathcore.

but the new song isn't good

I wouldn't hate a band because of its fans, cuz I really like Job for a Cowboy's "Genesis" (but fucking DESPISE "Doom" :Smug: ), and I dunno, I'm listening to "Lifted" on SS' myspace now, and it's not bad, I dig the guitar tone, and the snare is a bit annoyingly ringy, but it doesn't drive me crazy. The vocals are a bit annoying, but not terrible...

FUCK FUCK FUCK, nevermind, the breakdown just came in...everyone here is saying they hate this band because of their fans, or their popularity, but I at least have something about the music I hate - BREAKDOWNS. But I think everyone already knows that about me :) Still, the song was fine, but they just had to so awkwardly wrench everything to a stop, and bust out the stupid fucking chuggas, so all the kiddies can get their yah-yahs out in the pit at shows - the whole concept of a breakdown to me is just so fucking juvenile and immature, a totally ham-fisted attempt at being "heavy" with all the musical subtlety of a sledgehammer...uggghhhh...

The first album also featured a really ringy snare, I was hoping it wouldn't turn out that way with this album, but it's not that bad really. But the song is in fact a bit boring.. But the first album is heavy as hell, don't care if their fans are scene kids, who the hell cares about that=?!

fuck that^^ I love breakdowns and all the fist and feed flying around at shows:)
But I hate it when people try to dance to in flames or soilwork...!!!!
I also hate people jumping around and headbanging to a straigt (HC beatdown) like at as i lay dying shows nowadays^^

but just off topic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SS is doing what their doing. they doin it well. You dont have to love it. It´s deathcore. the new breed of deathmetal and beatdown

I fucking love laughing at people swinging their arms and shit, it looks so retarded that its funny. I don't mind breakdowns, sometimes they are awesome... sometimes they are completely pointless and changing the tempo to have a breakdown pisses me off.

As for deathcore... I kinda like it as a genre. I can see that people like nothing but deathcore and won't listen to other stuff... but thats not because of deathcore. Its because they are uninspired and unwilling to try new stuff. Their loss not yours.
