I just came up with a new superhero who spends all his time righting the wrongs on the internet.

This reminds me of a Metallica message board which was one of the first places I visited when I originally got on the web back in late 1995. It started out pretty cool, but by late 1997 or so, it was pretty much overrun by flamers, to the point where it could hardly even be used for conversation anymore. At one point however, a friend of mine discovered the administrative password for this board was something simple or easy to guess, and it could be used to delete posts. So I started replying to flamers as "FlameBuster 2000", saying dumb shit like "I am the avenger of flames, your flames shall be destroyed!", or something goofy like that. They responded with ridicule as expected, but then were stunned when their posts suddenly started disappearing. Interestingly, their bewildered replies revealed that the primary flamers were actually friends of the administrator and were operating with his consent. He finally changed the password at some point, but the board went down entirely shortly thereafter, never to return. That was my first, last, and I'm guessing only, stint as an internet superhero!
