Im a complete newb. I got into recording a few weeks ago through this forum and have learned a lot from you guys. Does anyone know of a really good book to teach the basics of recording.
If you want really basic foundational stuff, check out books from the MIX Pro Audio Series by Bill Gibson. They're pricey, but they come with CDs of audio examples that go along with what's being talked about in the book.
Also, Amazon (used and new) is a great source because of the linking/recommendation system they have. I cannot really recommend any one specific book, because you will learn something from every book you read.
Also, consider subscribing to a couple of mags, too. EQ, Mix, Electronic Musician, etc...
