New Trivium track

their appreciation isn't cheapened, the experience is, you can't really deny that. Just like our experience was cheapened by not having gatefold huge ass records with trippy ass full color covers to roll our blunts on to the beautiful hissing of an analog recorded Master of Reality the first time we heard it.

ABSOLUTELY!

are you kidding me? I totally agree Azal and Chris!

but I'll highlight this line again:
"their appreciation isn't cheapened, the experience is" - 100% true.

So that's entirely the individual's fault for cheapening the experience then. Its no different downloading than being handed a CDR/copied tape and popping it into the car player and then cruising around with your pals, having the new album cranked up on the stereo, and being amazed by the new music, eh. My ears know no difference.

you guys are realy missing the point and are being really too defensive where really there is no need...

You know I really love Picasso, I admire his paintings, I read about his history and I know all his work by heart.
but I certainly have no idea what its like to be in a time when a first picasso painting comes out and the excitment of going to
a museum and seeing it for the first time right? Now, does that mean I love picasso any less?
Of course not!
we're just talking.... nostalgia never hurt ahybody.... what's the big deal?

pfffffffft kids these days with their ipuds and their itunes and their BELTS, why when I was a youngin' we had to hold our pants up with extension cord. It was rough when christmas time came round and pa had to use those cords for stringin up christmas lights.

And we didn't have Christmas lights!! We had Christmas CANDLES, so every year we'd have to rebuild a part of the house that got caught on fire. We'd get out there in the snow with bare feet because we had worn out our shoes traveling to school every day 12 miles in the snow, uphill both ways.

But we had to stop every 2 miles to help raise a black man into a tree, cause in our day we didn't have no fancy schmancy civil rights!

Inference and implication.

I'm really not that bothered though, I just like being combative. Say as you like.

Hmm, it's just kinda pointless to add more value to "past" stuff than to what you're going through right now, just for the sake of it being in the past. That's kinda escapist
Not saying that to you personally of course. It's directed to some people that kinda idealize the past

there was cable tv, you just had to get a box cause those old knob tvs werent cable-ready, and microwaves have been abundant since the 70s! damn old folks always making up stories like they had it hard!
