Mmmm... I already have all of Warmen albums w/ bonus tracks and there's nothing new on the compilation album, so I don't know if I will buy it unless it comes out with some really cool or hard to obtain bonus like a sweaty wristband or stinky sock worn by Janne.

I'm curious to see what you guys here like to have on a Warmen compilation if you are allowed to choose tracks?
Janne said on some interviews that he was not interested in neoclassical stuff any more and I guess that is all right, although I miss it.
Many of the instrumental tracks I like on the previous Warmen albums are not necessarily neoclassical, but more like prog metal, fusion or something else.
I suppose the genre really doesn't matter...I simply love it when Janne's keyboard does the "singing" much better than hearing people's not-as-attractive voices over his keys.
But this is no more than my personal preference. Janne has do what he feels happy about.
I'm looking forward to seeing the vid, though.

TrashAndRiot: Lass uns mit einem kleinen Wortspiel beginnen: "Japanese Hospitality" und "Chinese Democracy" - was ist der Unterschied und wo liegen die Gemeinsamkeiten?
Janne: Hmm verschiedene Alben, Gemeinsamkeit: Osten?
TrashAndRiot: Wir alle wissen, dass "Chinese Democracy" das aktuelle Album von Guns N'Roses ist. Siehst du irgendwelche Verbindungen zwischen GNR und Warmen? Wo liegen die hauptsächlichen Unterschiede?
Janne: In der Tat war ich damals ein großer Fan von GnR (Appetite und Illusions), aber das ist die einzige Verbindung, die mir einfällt. Ich denke, es gibt eine Menge Unterschiede.
TrashAndRiot: Lass uns noch für eine Frage im GNR Themenbereich bleiben. W. Axl Rose ist ein Meister am Piano / Synth (im Besonderen, wenn ich an die Use Your Illusions Alben denke). Du bist auch ein Meister am Keyboard. Habt ihr etwas gemeinsam, wenn es darum geht, das Instrument zu nutzen?
Janne: Ich sah ihn lediglich live in einigen Illusions Aufzeichnungen spielen. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass wir etwas gemeinsam haben.
TrashAndRiot: Was ist für dich das Beste daran, Keyboard zu spielen? Was macht das Instrument für dich zu etwas Besonderem?
Janne: Ich denke, im Vergleich zu anderen Instrumenten, auf denen Rockbands basieren, ist es die Vielseitigkeit, dass es dir möglich ist, zwischen so vielen total verschiedenen Sounds zu wählen.
TrashAndRiot: Manche Leute sagen, dass Keyboard nichts mit "Old School Musik" zu tun hätte. Was sagst du dazu?

TrashAndRiot: "Japanese Hospitality" ist die aktuelle Warmen Veröffentlichung. Gibt es ein paar Geschichten aus dem Songwriting und den Aufnahmen, die du mit uns teilen willst?
Janne: Ich und mein Bruder Antti schrieben den Großteil der Musik. Alexi kam vorbei, da ich ihn bat, einen Song für Jonna zu schreiben und er schlug vor auf "High Heels On Cobblestone" zu singen, als er den Song hörte.

Janne: Yeah, die anderen Bands sind einer der Gründe. Mit diesem Release wollen wir versuchen, ein paar Shows zu spielen.
TrashAndRiot: Ihr habt ein paar Gastsänger auf dem Album. Warum habt ihr euch genau diese Sänger für genau die Songs ausgesucht?
Janne: All die Sänger sind Freunde von mir und mit einigen von ihnen arbeitete ich bereits in der Vergangenheit zusammen. Einige Songs sind für bestimmte Sänger geschrieben.
TrashAndRiot: Ihr habt Janet Jacksons "Black Cat" gecovert. Wie kam es dazu?
Janne: Es ist ein großartiger Song. Und er ist nicht leicht zu covern.
TrashAndRiot: Eine Frage für Antti: The Scourger trennten sich im Mai von Sänger Jari. Nicht allzu viele News von The Scourger dringen nach Deutschland vor. Was passiert derzeit bei ihnen?

Janne: I only saw him play live in a few Illusions recordings. I can´t imagine that we have something in common.

Janne: Compared to other instruments that make a rock band, it´s the diversity, that you´re able to choose between all those totally different sounds.

TAR: How do you write the songs? Are you playing something on the keyboards, or are the other band members involved?
Janne: I get some ideas while playing on my own, and then Antti and me check out some ideas together. I need a good guitar player for a few riffs and such.

Janne: I used to drum a lot, but I haven´t done that for years. And I know basics of playing guitar and bass.
TAR: How do you arrange your duties with COB and Warmen? Do you find the time to write new Warmen stuff when you´re on tour with COB?
Janne: I work on Warmen during COB tour breaks. I don´t write music while we´re on tour, cause I need Antti, as mentioned before.
TAR: Warmen isn´t a live band. What are the reasons? Don´t you wish to play live with this band? (I know you all are very busy with your other bands)
Janne: Yeah, our main bands are one of the reasons. We´re going to try to play live with this release though.
TAR: There are some guest vocalists on the album. Why did you choose this singer for this song, that vocalist for that song ?
Janne: All vocalists are friends of mine, and I already worked together with a few of them in the past. And some songs were particularly written for a specific vocalist.
