News Regarding "Rooms of Anguish"

This post is not something easy for me to write, as what I am about to say will disappoint and anger many. It seems that our label "Elevate Records" has been stringing us along for months now. After a conversation with Marco Barbieri, president of Century Media, yesterday, it seems that the licensing deal that Elevate had been telling us about since early in the year was never a reality. It seems Marco had never discussed any deals with Elevate to license our new CD. He did express his personal interest in the band, but said that our style is not something CM normally deals with. He also went on assure that Century Media will still continue to sell our new disc through mail order only (once they actually receive the CDs from Elevate), as they have been doing with our first CD, "Eyes of the Oracle". Anything beyond that would require an exclusive signing. I really can't say what this means for the release of Rooms of Anguish, as far as I know, October 28th is still the current release date in Europe. Elevate still refuses to answer any of my questions, so unfortunately I am left here empty handed with not much more info than what is in this post. I really wish I could offer more detailed answers, but for now, I want everyone to know that Power of Omens is not taking this lying down. We are protecting our interest as well as our name, as we are looking into every possibility to get this new CD out to you, our fans and friends. I know that this may delay things a bit, but the possibility of obtaining our new disc is still very much a possibility, it just will not be as easy. I will also be trying to put pressure on Elevate to work out a deal with Ken Golden at Laser's Edge that will allow him to sell our new CD (Hopefully by the time of ProgPower). I want to personally apologize to everyone who has been waiting patiently these last 4 years. Your dedication to this band is what has kept us going and striving only for the best. You know, it’s unfortunate that Elevate consistently fails to respond to our attempts in contacting them, so if you are interested in buying Rooms of Anguish, send them an e-mail to:

and tell them that they need to make RoA available in your country. They may try to avoid us, but they can't avoid a mass of e-mail from the fans demanding this CD.

Ken Golden has told me that CM ordered 75 copies of RoA from Elevate, & that Ken will be taking most if not all of them. So he *will* be selling the cd, now it's a matter of how many there will be available for starters.

Let's get those e-mails in to Elevate regardless, though..seems we need a mass response to wake them up over there! Please feel free to copy Dave's post to any other message boards/lists you may frequent..the more people who mail Elevate, the better!

I have had the suspicion that Elevate fucking sucks for some time now. They have now made it official. Yep, Elevate sucks the dripping, diseased, green pusy nutsacks of decaying, fecal covered monkey anus.

Out right lying, to a band signed to their own label, is unfuckingforgivable. What point does it serve other than to undermind the band confidence in the label, knowing that they are fucking stuck due to a stupid assed contract promising the moon and delivering hell. Hell, it's no wonder bands fall by the way side when dealing with ass rapers like Elevate.

Dave, do you guys still have the masters or has that become Elevates property too? If so, what would it cost to press up your own batch of CD's. Hell, why not make a two CD release of RoA and EotO. I'd grab it. I'm sure a lot of people would.

I'm sure I'm spouting out pipe-dream stuff, but at this point, I'd say fuck Elevate with diseased porno cock.

Well, there's not much more to add to this thread. Clearly not the band's fault.

I think I can safely speak for everyone in saying interest in RoA won't waver and I'll be prepared to wait until...well, a very very very very very very very very long time if necessary. I'll wait as long as it takes.
I've got a slot in my cd collection reserved for PofO and it's not going to be taken by anything.

Make Power of Omens available in my country (United Kingdom) and I guarantee you that you will see sales of their disc.
I know at least 5 people who want to buy it, and I'm pretty sure that they are getting others interested in them.
To deny sales of a band when you have a vested interested in them is just stupid.
