Cos I joined a gym today.

I wasn't there ten seconds when I made a fool of myself. That might be a record. I walked in and saw the gate near reception so I tried to push it. It wouldn't budge. I saw some green lights so I tried pushing them. No luck. Then the woman at the reception desk said, "What are you doing??". Turns out you have to be buzzed through, but nobody told me that.

It all looks OK. Lots of weights and treadmills and exercise bikes and stuff. I didn't check out the showers though, I forgot. Hopefully I won't have to get the love truncheon out in front of other guys though.

I go back tomorrow for the group orientation and trying out the stuff. Should be a hoot.

I'm thinking of joining a gym soon, but I'll be making the most of a generous offer from a friend. They have a free private gym in the "estate" (not really, but they like to call it that) that they live in and are allowed one sign, so they are going to put me down for it

They even waived the $100 joining fee because it was a special promotional offer, but then later on I wondered if they ever actually charged the fee for anyone, or if they always found a reason to waive it so that people would think, "Look, they waived the $100 joining fee!".

Well I've got three personal training sessions paid for, just a matter of booking them in. The group orientation is just being shown how everything works and stuff.

You need to turn into a lean sex machine like me Spiff. Having muscles is great.

If you want to lose fat however, you would have been better buying a bike and riding a few k's every day.

I went today, just for the orientation bit. Tried out some of the equipment. The showers are private, but I didn't do enough of a workout to warrant having one.

Funny thing happened - I accidentally walked into the girls' locker room and saw some women in various states of undress, and one of them asked me to give them a backrub. I thought that sort of thing only happened in the movies - apparently not.
