NHL

Ah, thanks for reminding me of the donut comment :)
Wings looked rather lackluster in Game 6, not a lot of jump/urgency...shouldn't be an issue in Game 7 though...I hope!

Go Wings

Lord Stanley, start pouring the brandy! Pens win it all!!!!!!

A team that went through a coaching change mid season, barely made it into the playoffs... defeated the favored team in seven games.

I don't know how they did it.. but they did it! Awesome job to all the Pens - from the owner, the new coach, and the players... what a great season.. what a great playoff and Stanley Cup final!!!

wow... funny thing is that I was at work during the game, and I totally spaced the fact that it was even happening until I got home from work tonight. I guess it was a good thing. :)

To be quite honest, I was pretty horrified at the way Detroit played. It was down right awful. But I have to give a lot of credit to the penguins, they were playing like it was their first playoff game, so much energy. And Fleury's final save.. just awesome.

Gotta agree with ya - the Pens outplayed Detriot... I'm THRILLED that Malkin got the Conn Smythe... But I gagged when Buttman threw out the 'and the youngest Captain to ever hoist the Cup' - I knew it was the beginning of 3 1/2 months of more Crosby shoved down our throats... woo hoo:puke:

I was glad to see Cooke hoist the Cup tho... the better team won - their captain is just a bitch...

My wife was working last night so we just finished the game a few minutes ago. The pens completely outplayed the wings the last 2 games. Hate to say it, but after Detroit went up 2 games, I had written Pittsburgh off. I feel bad for Hossa, but when you turn down a 5 year deal worth 30+ million to play for the team you just lost too because they have a better chance of winning, you are just asking for what happened, I'm curious to see where he ends up next year. Fleury stood on his head the last 2 games, impressive goaltending. My wife cracked me when she said that the only thing she could think of during the Fluery interview was Terrance and Phillip from South Park.

I must say, I enjoyed watching the playoffs, or whatever little it was that I did. Hockey is a freaking exciting sport to watch, but I just can't pick a team. And without a team to follow, I can't follow the sport very well.

At this point I am willing to say that it is better to not have a team then to be a fan of one that makes the playoffs once in ten years...
