could be... but I don't know the name... (feels like an idiot... because I should probably know him right?)... but if you enlighten me a little bit... I might know who he is 
well he's an artist who recorded in the late 60s and early 70s. he died tragically in 1974 at the age of just 26. during his lifetime he was not immensely popular, but over the years he has obtained a massive underground following.
his music is folk-tinged, and for the most part very dark and melancholy.
