I have explained this many times, it's difficult to make myself clear tho, the fact that she is a trained singer doesn't means her voice has strength, she sounds flat, yes, she's always in the right key but so what, that doesn't means her voice empowers the music... an example, here a song with a girl that really puts some effort in singing with personality, if you like epica this will mean poop to jew anyways.

Simone (Epica vox) is a mezzo-soprano, and the woman who sings in that band you linked is not... She's more sort of a pop-style vocalist. It's just different styles, and I just think you don't get the operatic kind of vocals (no offense). Another example besides Simone is Tarja Turunen, and my guessing would be that you don't like her either.

it doesn't matters what kind of voice she has, it's still soulless to me, I have seen girls using auto tune and getting better results than that, of course is obvious one is an operatic voice and the other is a pop-rock like voice, I meant a voice with personality with that video, the fact that epica is a fancy geek band does no difference to me cause I'm not judging the skills but the feeling, hence why this is a personal opinion and to rumble about epica being good or not would be endless... I don't like tarja turunen but still, compared to epica's whore, she is light years ahead cause she does have a powerful voice

Yep. Those three and Dax Riggs make up a few different play lists of mine by themselves. Great lyricists / vocalists with a perfect moody quality.

Aye, despite the cheese factor Nightwish had, Tarja actually had oompth, power and feeling to her vocals, along with being talented. Epica's singer is closer to a fucking mannequin singing opera. There is nothing there, its just cold and cheesy.
