I discovered Hiromi Uehara, a japanese pianist playing some kind of fusion-jazz music and it's reaaaaally good check her out !
Also check out Michel Camilo, a dominican pianist playing latin music with a big band and also in trio he's a fucking beast.

Yeah Jaga Jazzist are awesome ! We did one of their song, Oslo Skyline, in our end-of-D.E.C. show couple of years ago ! (DEC = diplôme d'études collégiales = College studies diploma). Anyways great band !

ca doit pas non ! ouais c'était vraiment cool ! c'était au Box Office à Drummondville notre show de fin de D.E.C en musique pi stait vraiment intéressant ! on avait une grande variété de chansons ! Jaga Jazzist a été une belle découverte pour moi entk.
 
Ah en plus Drummond cest pas si loin de chez moi. Enfin, quelques dizaines de minutes. ;o

I think I might be fucked, I dislike jazz for the reason its over complexity fucks with me. Usually I only like complicated music to be slower so I can actually appreciate everything about it, where if I listen to something fast it generally just flyes through my head and I forget about in a week. Hence why I rarely listen to any shred-metal anymore. Its fun, but it just turns into a clusterfuck-shitpot.

I tend to just stick to blues anyway. Miles Davis Kind of Blue is all I need.

This is assuming I'm understanding you correctly. :p
