Non-Metal

Swans and Dead Can Dance are essential. Both have female vocals, per your requisite.

Jesu is a good one. Some may argue they are metal. Hardly.

The operatic musical "The pantom of the opera" is really nice too.

and check out this:

A gorish musical with some hollywoodians stars as Paris Hilton. Seems really interesting I think.

Velvet Revolver blow.

Fuck no and it's to bad scott weiland got the boot. I saw them outside when their second album Libetad came out and they were one of the loudest and tightest bands i've seen besides Heaven & hell and they fucking rocked out for a good two & and half hours playing their songs guns n roses and stone temple pilots songs and it was phenomental. Slash's sound was massive and his playing was phenomenal.

He's so much better than cheesy mario/ nintendo dungean & dragon guitarist's in the metal genre that have no substance nor go anywhere. It is impossible to even explain his playing because he is that fucking good.

Lightning Bolt is noise rock, not really straight noise. Decent regardless, and my advisor/prof of computer art is a big fan. :p

More great noise:

Nelvoroth
Ahlzagailzehguh
Bloody Letter
Killer Bug/Kazumoto Endo

I know. I just felt that they were too good to be ignored. I've been thinking about picking up some more harsh noise lately myself. I'll be sure to check these out.
