well,... last night(this morning actually since they took to the stage after midnight) was..... interesting. If the way it sounded in the audience last night was anything like many of you have heard recently, it's a shame you never heard it when george was the soundman. I went back & forth between the crowd & the stage and the sound was much better on the stage. And they had blown up monitors on the stage which caused problems of its own. But I remember back in the day when Scott's guitar and "ALL" of the drums and Bello's bass were the most prominent thing in the mix. Last night it was the "other" guitar, which wasn't "in time" with the band. This caused the band to NOT sound as "tight" as they had for the past many years. And this idea of throwing beer bottles at the band should have been done away with years ago. It was a shame for the fans that REALLY were into the band to have the show cut short because the venue allowed the "opening acts" to bring beer bottles into the gig and have them end up being thrown at the band during a song. Frank had one fly through his hair while singing. NOT COOL. And too add to that the state of mind that Bello and Scott were in because the Yankers got their asses whooped at Yanker stadium made for a dismal night. but Scott had the best line all night. " To the PUSSY that stands at the back of the crowd and throws bottles at us,.. I Fucked your mom in the ass and you came out." Classic.
Too bad for the many fans that were definately enjoying the show. And Bush's singing of "Belly of the Beast" gave that song the dark intent that it needs. Awesome performance other than the terrible sound & the stupid people in the crowd. At least I got to drink the bands beer for them.

eh, i never post here, but i was at the show. it was actually my first time ever seeing anthrax. ok, close your mouths and/or quit laughing. i swear i wouldve killed myself if i had to listen to one more korn, RATM, chimaira(first album) wannabe band. the best local band was burial rites(www.burialrites.net) that played in hell at 6pm. yeah, shameless plug. that suspension show was fuckin' weird anywho, anthrax was pretty good until they had to cut it short. fucking lame that they had to.

so i guess the fucked up monitors was why frank kept throwing his mic stand and john throwing down the speakers on both sides?

You can't blame the poor sound on Anthrax's soundman. I've been to a dozen shows over the course of this tour and they've never sounded better. I saw them with George as well and Red consistently sounds better. The system at the Masquerade was terrible at best and after 12 other bands played, that's all that was left. When John and Franks monitors stopped working that just made it even harder for them to do their thing. They are more disappointed than anyone over cutting their set short. They know how much the rest of the crowd was into it. It sucks that one ass can ruin it but it's not worth risking a concussion or worse.
BTW- Scott and Cliff were arrested in London.

this last show in atlanta was the second one i missed since 1993. i lost count of the times fans here have thrown stuff at anthrax. how long did they play this time before cutting the show short? are they ever going to come back? every time they come here the crowd sucks and they get hit with flying objects for no reason. FUCK YOU PUSSIES who throw shit at them every time they play atlanta. how come nobody ever sees who throws this shit??? if i ever caught someone at a thrax show throwing something they would be bleeding on the floor in pain not long after that, because it happens every godamn time. i would not be surprised if they stopped coming here, in one of scotts tour diaries he even said they have only played one good show here in 1993, and how the crowd never gets into it, and how they get hit with shit.......... wake up atlanta fans, keep your eyes open and kick whoevers ass throws bottles at anthrax, those fucking cunts

Mr. Wu is right. Big Red does an EXCELLENT job. I've only been to 3 Anthrax shows (so far) this year, and they all sounded great! I've seen them with George too, and Big Red is at least as good as he was.
Sounds like just an unlucky night.
Speaking of that, they say bad things happen in 3's........

Damn, i missed all the bullshit. I caught the first couple songs and they were rockin the house. I went down to hell to pack my guitar rig and people were telling me the anthrax was thrashing monitors and throwing mics. I ran back upstairs and they were rockin again. everybody was jumping and going off. I caught a couple more songs and went back down to finish packing. Then i heard about people throwing bottles. All i saw was a good show with anthrax kicking ass. I havent seen em since the late 80's and they still kick ass.\m/\m/
