I've listened to Jimmy Herring before on some tribute cd's and liked what I heard...I've never checked out his own stuff though so I'll add it to the "stuff to buy" list

Definately check out 'Lifeboat', Jeff Sipe is on drums, and Derek Trucks plays some slide solos on a couple of tunes. Also flute, sax, plenty of piano and organ, including a solo by Scott Kinsey. There's also awesome arrangements of the theme from 'Jungle Book' and also 'Lost' by Wayne Shorter. Jimmy's tone is incredible also, but I guess that's a given using a hollow-body PRS...

I'd never heard of him before, and probably wouldn't have ordered it, but I saw it in a local cd store and thought it'd be worth a go. I still can't believe how good it is, and that I'd never heard of Jimmy Herring before!
