Glenn: I just finished Dirty Streets of Heaven. It was pretty good, I'm looking forward to picking that one up.

Republic of Thieves is in less than a month too!

That's a hell of a tag line on the cover. I'm intrigued.

This book has been sitting on my night stand for over a month. Haven't started it yet. The author took the creative writing course (a few times) from Brandon Sanderson at BYU. Brandon hyped the book a bit which is why I bought it. I really should start it...

I have a copy that was published in the 60s that has been in my possession for roughly 31 years, and I got it signed by PSB several years ago when he did a signing with Neil F Gaiman in Baltimore. I used to watch the animation repeatedly when it was on HBO nearly every day in the early 80s.

Oh geez, I rented that video SO MUCH as a kid that my parents told me I had to pick something else when we went to the video store. They finally wised up and bought me my own copy on VHS, which I still have! Of course, in grad school I purchased a DVD copy, but I won't get rid of the VHS tape. I think I finally got to read the book in undergrad, and it was as amazing as I'd hoped. And I was pleased to discover that the movie was almost verbatim the book.

It helps that Beagle wrote the script for the movie.

It was interesting reading about the film, from Beagle being angry at Rankin-Bass having the rights to the film, to the Japanese studio that did the animation work would be come the building blocks of what would become Studio Ghibli.

Personally, I haven't seen the film in years. I know that there is a screening tour going on in the area. Hopefully I can catch it.

For my current eBook, something completely different:
