I haven't seen them posted in anyone's favourite bands lists, or once in the various np threads so far. I know I've only been here a month, but in that time I've seen The Chasm/Cirith Ungol/Destroyer 666 posted about one billion times.

Good, all 3 are amazing at their peaks. And everyone knows that The Chasm is the most consistently good death metal band.

Iron Maiden/Judas Priest/Metallica/Slayer seem to come up every few weeks in the Controversial Opinions thread.

Yeah, I have no problem with how often those bands are mentioned, they're all pretty cool... I just think there are some bands deserving of equal attention, lol.

I'm a huge fan of Vikingligr Veldi and I really like the Hordanes Land EP and Frost. Not a fan of anything else. But yeah, they do seem quite underrated around here. I've mentioned this before. Same goes for early Ulver.

Their later stuff is weird, but it's also incredible. I feel the same way about Ulver, actually. The pure black metal albums of both bands are also awesome, though.
