SttS is my favorite by them. Yeah check out the first two if you want "less shredding" but I don't think you really want Exmortus in that case.

It's not like they are lacking in the shredding department. They just overdid it on their last two albums.

I mean, I enjoy particular songs by them but the whole idea of 'neo-classicalness' in their music is overkill. Some songs barely stand out from each other.

this is exactly why i'm telling you to check out their first two.

The most irritating thing in regards to every Immortal release is how there was always someone who went "Oh, GAWSH! Looks like it's the end of Immortal, everybody!". Seriously, At the Heart of Winter, Battles in the North, and Sons of Northern Darkness are amazing. They've never released a single album that I'd call bad. Just ones that I "like less".
