It strikes me as odd that Seeming Salvation isn't revered among all the other "one album wonder" gems of that era. It wasn't groundbreaking, but it's very well-mixed and has some awesome riffs, lots of cool melodies, harmonies, etc. and that's why I like it. I think it just relies very heavily on the aforementioned traits-cool harmonies and choppy, strangely-timed riffs, with which it takes a quantity over quality approach. Sick riff after sick riff, but I guess some people find that gimmicky. It's similar to how anything Obituary album after Cause of Death gets a lot of flak on Metallum.I always found that album to be super boring, but at this point it's been years since I flogged off my CD.
