I'm glad that most of the songs are around 4 minutes long, at least. Badlands, Anthem to the Estranged, etc are obviously metal perfection but lately his "epics" are kinda dull and repetitive, Steve Harris syndrome. This one seems pretty to-the-point. I really liked Generation Nothing for the same reason, though I know everyone hates that one.

It is far from the good old days and while I don't have a problem with bands evolving I don't think that's what MC has done with the last few efforts. There was a lot of hype from Kurdt and Howe before this album hit the shelves, they claimed it was a return to MC of old and even compared some of the songs to Badlands era songs. I thought it reasonable to expect what I was getting was what they were selling but I was disappointed.

Well do yourself a favour and listen to the new one. I don't see why I should be the only one to suffer :P

Nah, something like Rock 'n' Roll Doctor, The Final Frontier, 1000 Times Goodbye, or 90% of the Manilla Road discography still edge it out.

The arrangement and production are still the biggest let downs, less so than the songwriting, but even without ever listening to a Korn album I'm going to go out on a limb and say Korn have done a better job.

I haven't bothered to even waste my time with the new Metal Church, but if it's worse than Korn... wow.

You should get it. The production is first class. It's a return to old school Metal Church and a nod to old school classics like Badlands. It's heavier and harder then they have been or years and they are such a tight knit writing team that everything they write is album worthy and it only takes one take to get down on tape. It's and amazing album!

That song KornburgerBoy posted wasn't that bad, but then I looked up "Fingered Monkey" and almost puked. That whole album can go fuck itself, amazing that anybody would praise this bullshit when there are newer bands releasing total gems.

I'll never understand it.
