This was a really good under the radar album from this year.

that album's like my 3.75 star benchmark, anything better gets a 4. we'll see if 3.75 is enough to get into my top 25 list, i suspect it won't be. anyone who's into old school finnish DM (of the demigod or amorphis variety) should check it out though.

I don't hear much Amorphis, more of a shitload of Uncanny.

seen that comp as well but i haven't listened to uncanny in like 15 years so i don't remember tbh. there's at least some amorphis in there though, parts of the fifth track are very 'misery path' to give an example.

Okay yeah I'm starting to hear the Amorphis now. Uncanny has a very hyperactive style and that's kinda how this album started out, but the more patient melodic doomy stuff kicked in around tracks 4 and 5. Digging this a lot. Track 5 was epic.

Definitely a lot of old Amorphis/Uncanny/A Canorous Quintet in there, didn't really get much of the brute heaviness of Demigod at all. Cool stuff though.
