twalk amongst ye'selfes... let me give you a topic.. roll call?

I am definitely in. And when I say 'definitely', I mean, provided nothing whacky happens between now and then preventing me from going.

I'll also quickly use this thread to say, after listening to a bunch of Saturnus, I can clearly say they're really not very good at all. Quite boring actually.

I don't think I need to say it but Be there early! Don't miss GSF :)

We're going to get there early for GSF and you guys, hang out at the bar during Thurisaz and Saturnus, and then start a Slayer-like mosh pit for Novembers Doom. :tickled:

the new Novembers Doom material live > new Novembers Doom material on CD

or that's how I predict it

Well yeah, I'm basing it on their performance at HC (or really, it's true for almost anything). The Pale Haunt material pretty much comes to life on stage, as will Novella no doubt. Their earlier, moody doomy stuff is designed for solitude and headphones.

I've seen ND in Brooklyn once, and they ROCKED live! I will no doubt enjoy their performance as well. This will be a good show I think.

Btw. I like what I heard from Thurisaz so far. Will check out more of their stuff before the show.

At this point, I think I'm going to leave Thurisaz well alone and let their live performance be the first time I hear them. I want at least one 'surprise' band for the night!

Not including the band or roadies, what did the other 11 people in the audience think? :tickled:

(I heard that the last time they played NY, they had a really small turnout).

I couldn't Care less! :headbang:
In their defence, that show was one of the worst bills I've ever seen, with 6 really bad bands and then finally Novembers doom towards the end. They made every other band on the bill look like a buncha lame asses.

Spoke with Paul a bit after the show but I'm sure he doesnt remember.

yeah Saturnus is a snoozer ... I can imagine chicks and gothy types getting into them ... they are like pop doom.

6 members? why?

@Starfrog: Yeah he was telling us about it at HC 1. I seem to remember him saying that they weren't very keen to play NYC again (and that they prefer NJ) but I guess things have changed. Maybe with The End Records being based in Brooklyn helps.

I prefer NYC anyway, it's easier to get in and out. Hopefully they'll get a bigger crowd this time. I've seen them twice now and they absolutely killed at HC 1. That Moonsorrow/Primordial crowd really worked for them (better than the Agalloch / Gathering crowd).

you should have seen the bill though. Not 1 other decent band (IMO). the first 3 bands on the bill actually made me cry and laugh histerically while thinking "how tha fuck do these people get on shows while I cannot" (well that was before Gb played any shows yet hah) but yeah.. it was bad. and it wasnt promoted either. I only found out ND is playing the day of the show, but I'm a big enough fan to drop any plans for that evening and go see them live.
