(NYC) April 24 - Novembers Doom, Saturnus, Thurisaz, Gwynbleidd, GreySkiesFallen

Judging from some responses, maybe I'm thinking of another show. The show we played with ND in Brooklyn had a similar turnout...

the last time ND played in brooklyn it was at north six and was billed as a doom fest. there were about 6-7 bands, and you guys were not on that (i would have remembered) it was about a year ago i think.

is North Six closed? I heard they were going to ... and the events list is gone from their website

yep. they're supposed to tear it down and build a "wiliamsburg music hall" in its place, with 800+ capacity . dunno how accurate that is, but from what i understand there might be bigger metal bills coming in once the new place opens

very cool ... N6 was a cool venue, but was lacking in hang out factor ...
i hate venues that don't have a proper bar or some grub.

we need a Duff's with a stage :)

lol I didn't even know that show happened! Would have been good to see.

Last time we played with them was at the mighty L'amours. (R.I.P)

 ... what in the world?

its cool that Club Europa now has Metal shows ...

you best believe it! :ill:

its actually a pretty cool venue to hold metal shows at.. but on other days its a shithole with occasional hot (but usually not so intelligent) polish barely legals ;)

you're coming right? i find it hilarious I just noticed in some calendar today that that day is actually corpus christi and its a Rotting Christ show :heh:

Just to clarify...we've played in NYC two times. The first time was at L'Amours with Grey Skies Fallen and a handful of other bands. I hated that place, fucking HATED it, I don't care how legendary it is LOL The people who worked there behaved like total assholes to us for no good reason. We played on borrowed gear that was not quite what we'd been promised we'd have (I'm not being a primadonna here either...I'm talking like, they had small 25 watt practice amps they expected us to use!) and if memory serves correctly I threw my guitar down onstage in disgust at the end of it. Good times, LOL. This was in February of 2003.

The second time we played was at North Six, in July 2005. We played with Gates of Slumber, Reverend Bizarre, Well of Souls, and a couple other bands. The show was poorly organized and promoted, and again we were fucked over with the backline gear we were promised. Luckily Well Of Souls came to our rescue and were really cool to us. The other bands on the bill clearly wanted absolutely nothing to do with us and that was quickly evident. Some excellent NY pizza was had down the street though, that's my fondest memory of that gig haha

So.....I'm really hoping this gig turns out better. We seem to go over pretty well on the east coast except for NYC so we'll see. At least this time some of you guys will hopefully be in attendance and at the very least we'll have fun hanging out and bullshitting all night.

Oh, and our negativity towards NY shows has nothing to do with GSF. We've played with them several times and are always happy to see those guys.

Hopefully it does. I have no insight into what sort of promotion is being done for this show. But if it does get a bit of word of mouth, I suspect this will be a better night than the last two.

Zod

frankly I've been trying to get in touch with both TER and the local promoter with some basic questions and I have yet to hear an answer on anything. I'm tired of this shit.

mark my words, if this show is successfull it will be because of the word of mouth and local bands promoting it (Gwynbleidd, GSF) NOT because of "promoters" who can't even answer an email.
