(NYC) April 24 - Novembers Doom, Saturnus, Thurisaz, Gwynbleidd, GreySkiesFallen

well, Rebel, the old Downtime, is not known for well promoted gigs.
Even though they have been around for 20 years or more, does anyone even know where Rebel is?

I'll be there with half a dozen or so odd bodies from my end :kickass:

frankly I've been trying to get in touch with both TER and the local promoter with some basic questions and I have yet to hear an answer on anything. I'm tired of this shit.

mark my words, if this show is successfull it will be because of the word of mouth and local bands promoting it (Gwynbleidd, GSF) NOT because of "promoters" who can't even answer an email.

there's a reason I'm not trying to do metal music for a living, and its because vast majority of people involved know nothing about how to hold a job and what it means to organize events in at least a semi professional manner

The sad part is that it's actually a really solid line up. Sure, I'm indifferent to Saturnus and Thurisaz (don't know the latter at all) but that doesn't mean they're not generally well regarded. And I might grow to like them after seeing them live.

Like I said earlier, add in ND, G, and GsF and you've got half a Heathen Crusade line up. I don't know why but my gut feeling tells me this gig is going to be A ok. I'm really looking forward to a good night out, plus I'll be in the city all day so I can get an early start. :)

i don't know any ...

but will see what I can do with other nationalities

and to reiterate what KYJelly said ... a nice summer spring evening in the city should bring out the masses. Nice Irish bar on the corner by the venue as well ...

sorry I missed you guys Saturday in Suffern ... got Ali's email this morning ... bah

I wasn't sober....and I passed out 2 minutes after you guys left. This rain is still falling here, the street behind us is under 2 ft of water. These are the deathly risks one takes of living near a streaming river!!!!

P.S. I shall be at the ND show. I shall be there bright and early for the opening act so let me suggest we grab dinner close by before heading out. to the.

highway.

I wanted to pass out 2 minutes after we left.

I'm all for that. Anyone has any thoughts as to time and place to meet up?

Any concern we'll get shut out in respect to tickets?

Zod

There's Mustang Harry's at 30th & 7th, so I suspect it's really close to Rebel.

The Rebel venue is an odd place for a metal show, especially since it's a nightclub / lounge bar. A description:

The latest from Webster Hall-owner Steve Ballinger, this enormous, three-floor venue books some impressive acts and lands some of the city's biggest parties. Its five distinct areas each have moods of their own. Rock-lovers can mosh to major bands and up-and-comers in the red-and-black performance hall; a disco-ball dance floor and DJ room draws the let-loose-and-groove group; the upstairs lounge lures singles with velvet ropes and toned-down tunes; and those who'd rather watch it all go down can lounge on the mezzanine level.
