won the nomination...

what do you all think?

I'm interested in getting some non-US people's opinions

*EDIT* Just to clarify, US opinions are welcome too!

I'm American but I'll post anyway. There are so many reasons to vote for Obama.

Any American who is not a hardcore Christian, rich, racist, or friends and family of McCain and decides to vote republican this time around is clearly confused.

Obama certainly is the lesser evil to choose. That being said I'm somewhat confused about his pro-war/anti-war attitude.
He doesn't seem to be as transparent as he wants people to believe he is. But I'm sure he'll put some fresh ideas to use in the near future once he's president.
Clinton may have some backup with Bill but is a woman who doesn't know WHEN to stop as we can see with her campaign. DANGEROUS.

i'm not a supporter of obama, but i'm going to vote for him just because i'd like to see alot of right wingers pissed off. Not that my vote matters anyway, i live in california.

I'm very sorry but I think the americans will vote the next idiot into business (=McCaine). they seem to be incorrigible
did you know that mccaine is a famous french fries (oh sorry freedom fries) product in germany. think about it ;)

Quite possible the last hope of redemption for the US....doesn't cater strictly to the lowest common denominator (Hello Hillary)....has a clue about establishing a foreign policy and understands that bombs may bring a short-term gain, but usually create a long-term problem (Hello Bush/McCain)...will probably be assassinated before he sets foot in the Whitehouse....

I don't think it's that easy.

What do we (outside the US) know about Obama? That he used to smoke pot during college. Great. We basically only know that he's democrat = not republican = not Bush. European press loves him for this fact exclusively. They try to stylize him to be the new anti-war, Europe- and environment-friendly nice guy, the US president we always wanted. Do we really know? There's almost no news on McCaine because he must be evil and hopeless anyway.

Don't get me wrong, there seems to be nothing wrong with Obama (and maybe things can only get better), but every non-American that expects a 180° turn in US (foreign) politics if Obama becomes president will probably be dissapointed.

To contradict the original poster: I'd be especially interested in US-people opinions.

I think Obama is no better than Bush or all the rest of them."same monkey in a different suit" I think they all have a lot invested($$)in war. I think the elections are a show/carnival. I think it's all pre-planed. No matter who "wins" we will go to war with Iran. Thats all that matters. The mission is go to war with both Iran & Pakistan with or without americans approval, but there sure trying to sell it! Putting on the big "Change Show". Obama has been saying over and over "we need to get out of Iraq and go into Iran". He lost my vote just like that. I don't believe in the whole terrorist lie. I think we need to look in the mirror. There we find the terrorist and WOMD. (Well not me personally I'm a vegan tree hugger) So I won't vote, it wouldn't count anyway (florida we can't count). http://rawstory.com/news/2007/FOX_Obama_related_to_Bush_Cheney_1017.html It's all in the family folks it's a big private club and your not invited. So go on be a patriot (blind submission) and vote and fight and pay to line there pockets. God bless the USA. yay! or as I call it USA Inc.

This is the attitude I had 8 years ago when Bush got elected, and I regret it:
I'm an independent so from where I stand I see little difference between any of the nominees. *shrug*

This is a much better attitude, and if more of us had it, the USA would be the great country it could be:
i'm not a supporter of obama, but i'm going to vote for him just because i'd like to see alot of right wingers pissed off. Not that my vote matters anyway, i live in california.

Obama seems to care a lot more for other things behind his own nose than Bush. Thats already a big plus. And i expect him to care a lot more for environmental stuff. In the other hand, i dont expect much to change from the US...

I heard somewhere that one of those people who read the future, saw if ´a black president won in the US elections´, he would be next american president murdered
