OBAMA!!!

0bama=just another power hungry politician. Once america invades a country, they never leave. I want to know what this pathetic 0bama will change without pissing off the country. There have already been halted assassination attempts on his life.

The assassination attempt (or at least theonly confirmed one I know of) was by these two skinheads, who wanted to kill him just because he's not white. It had nothing to do with his policies and he has been more vocal about getting out of Iraq than McCain... so I'm not saying Obama is the greatest or anything like that. I'm just saying he leaned more towards getting out of war than McCain who said "We have to win the war!"

i am speaking for myself, and not my band.

i have no problem with the United States Government banning imports from China. the Chinese government has no respect for human rights or human life. the Chinese government represses the press and the people and has no regard for freedom of speech or the press. the government of China is one of the biggest propagators of pollution and environmentally destructive industrial practices. furthermore, the United States is far too tolerant of U.S. companies who extradite their manufacturing and labor to Chinese (and other foreign nation's) sweat shops. The Chinese government dictates how many children Chinese families are allowed to create, and the sex of the children.

AND, to get to the point, the Chinese toys in question were made with led paint. Would you give poison to your child?

I have held my tongue since this post was started, but I can no longer do so. Has anyone else noticed that all of the posts so far have been geared towards, or derived from, issues of money? Some things in life, most things in life, are more important than the economy, more important than trade. Does anyone else notice that most of the U.S.'s economic woes stem from social, moral, personal, or human deficiencies?

The McCain/Palin ticket was composed of a man who made great sacrifices for his country and countrymen, but who was swayed and distorted by the influence of his party. Did anyone else notice a difference in the John McCain of the Republican primaries, versus the John McCain of the general election?? His concession speech was very honorable and humble. More so than I ever would have expected in my wildest dreams. Dare I say, he seemed like a man awoken from a trance?

And So, that gets me to the point of: Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin was for banning books. She actually thought that it was ok to tell people what they could and could not read, what they could and could not write! Freedom of the press anyone? Sarah Palin denied the reality of global warming, AND she denies the existence of the dinosaurs!!? Is that OK? Can a "world leader" discount and discredit science?? Worst of all, Governor Palin believes that rape victims should pay for their own health care cost!!! Get Raped?? You'll Pay!! Republicans '08!!! So, in the U.S.A, if you are a victim of rape, you should have to foot the bill of recovery?? Wanna get cleaned up and stictched up??...you'll pay! the so-called "rape kit" is suddenly your liability and expense. To Make matters worse, on a Republican tikcet, if you become pregnant from being raped, you HAVE to keep the baby! Not your choice! You walk down the street one night, and all of the sudden you're raped, inpreganated and in debt?? WTF! I can go further in about the McCain/Palin ticket, but I refrain. John McCain is in his seventies. If he were elected, and god forbid something happen to him, we (and the world,) would be left with Sarah Palin??!! WTF! Furthemore, John McCain opposes the National Endowment for the Arts. This is the government organization that promotes and funds high art, encourages new artists via grants, funds many national exhibits, AND is responsible for getting foreign literature translated into english for American readers. Is that a bad thing? There is also evidence that John McCain accepted the support of Ku Klux Klan members, and the support of a Texas evangelic who said that the victims of hurricane Katrina were being punished by god for being gay??? What?!

SO, in a nation where there is no health care for those who can't pay, and even many of those who can pay are not covered for any major health crisis; a nation where racism runs rampant and money is priority number 1: maybe, just maybe, it'd be nice for us to join the rest of the "'western world" and possibly lean just a tiny, tiny bit more towards the "center," instead of favoring the rich, and holding the rich up as saviors and false benfactors, and as the ultimate goal of U.S. society.

Everyone's vote counts. Everything counts. The U.S. is in a real shit-ball situation right now, and the president-to-be has inherited a very dismal job. That truth was waiting for whichever candidate won the election. Maybe it's time to stop being so critical, to look at both sides, to research and get your facts right before opening your mouth, and most importantly, to TRY to look past petty differences, embrace social and global responsibilities, and ACTUALLY contribute to the better good; i.e. give everyone a chance.

p.s. if you don't vote, don't complain. if you forfeit your right to vote, you've forfeited all of your rights.

to AlteredMindDeath: I am with you in that I do not support the United States Government on issues of war, foreign policy, and invasion. BUT, i disagree with your statement that Barack Obama is just another power-hungry politician. I understand that ALL politicians have agendas and biases, but Senator Obama genuinely opposed the Iraq war. He understands that the Iraqi people and Iraqi government themselves have stated that it'd be better if the U.S. were to withdrawal.

For once, finally, the U.S. democratic system is starting to show signs of actually working and being relevant. We still have a long way to go, but PLEASE do not discount the power of this year's presidential election.

Obama is not "pathetic." He won the election in a way that has never been done before: by gaining the support and monetary contributions of regular people: in small amounts, but in enormous quantity. This shows the true and populist appeal of Barack Obama and his policies. I've even spoken to many older Republicans who voted Democratic this election for the first time in their lives, because they actually agree with the policies and attitudes of Senator Obama.

"Pissing Off" part of the population just comes with the turf of democracy. You can't please everyone all of the time, but you CAN make eventual progress that everyone can recognize.

The attempts on Barack Obama's life were by skinheads and neo-nazis. RACISTS. this is not ok. this is not vaild. there will be no tolerance for racism. these pieces of shit do not speak for or represent the population of the U.S.A.

one more thing: most of the people in the U.S.A. who are throwing around the word "socialism" do not even know what it means. BUT, more importantly, they are throwing the word around only because some asshole on the radio or tv told them to. the Obama side never even mentioned anything that remotely resembled socialism, or a socialist idea. it was all propaganda and slander from the other side. maybe people here should find out what the word means before they condemn it. the Bush administration's "economic stimulus package" was the most socialist thing to ever happen in this country. there are no services here, especially for the poor. the middle class is fucked over, but the poor never even get a chance. the Americans who bitch about laziness and welfare should start with the white-collar shitheads who sit at their desk and browse the internet all day. people who get a salary job because they came from "money" or the "upper middle." people with no real skills what-so-ever. what about the recent Bail Out??? the CEO's of these financial companies make millions either way! what for?? maybe some of this money could have gone towards small business, health care, and effective alternative energy.

That was probably the best 3 posts in the history of the internet... except for the part with China, that I don't know how much I agree with.

I'd just like to say that socialism isn't a total sacrifice of economic freedom, thats communism. And its been working quite well in Scandinavia, hence why they're all considered some of the greatest places to live by the UN.

I'd just like to bring up a couple of points.
Firstly about Chinese imports. I believe that free trade leads to economic development in third world countries. However it can also lead to better social systems. Looking at China now, the concept of free trade has helped them to liberalise their economy, bring freedom back to citizens. The more they get used to that, the more they'll accept a 'western' quality of life. If we simply block them off, they will do nothing but resent our lifestyle. It's by no means a definite, sure-fire transition, but it tends to be more likely, looking through history.

Secondly about Sarah Palin. No, I don't like her, and I do disagree on a lot of shit she says. But looking at her track record, she's less likely to legislate on her controversial personal beliefs - the only law she passed on gay rights (which she is personally opposed to) is to ALLOW public servants to get gay marriages (or civil unions, or something to the same purpose). So while she has brutal personal opinions, she's not entirely likely to legislate on them.

sarcastic or not, you speak the truth.

well, that makes one of us.
when get your shit straight, post away! in the mean time, try being a little bit more productive than posting ridiculous shit on a MUSIC page. its really easy to post on a site instead of actually having real conversations or doing something that could possibly change things. if you don't like something, do something about it. this message is to everyone on here. lets all just hug it out.

I'm no expert, but aren't you supposed to vote for someone based on their beliefs and their desire to act by them? I mean, you can't say "I'll vote for Obama, because I disagree with the things he says, but he shouldn't actually carry them, so it's OK!"

If not, then why do you vote for certain people who's beliefs you agree with?
