Obama's Inauguration /Good Riddance "W"

Can we please stop saying "African American?" My lineage is Portuguese, English, Welsh, and German. I was born in America. I'm an American. I happen to be white. I have never been to Portugal or Wales, and I certainly don't consider myself Portuguese-American or English-American or German-American. Barack Obama is our nation's first black president, and I hope he does a bang-up job.

bahaha quoted for sheer brilliance.

For those who couldn't catch it - Barack didn't stumble, the other guy ommited a part of the oath which he corrected. I didn't find the speech overly life changing - but it was cool and collective but to the point on what we need to do as a country. I did enjoy his outreach to other countries - especially those in the Middle East and I was glad to hear us "non belivers" included as part of this countries religious make up.

I mean, I don't care about your viewpoint, you can say whatever you please, I just think it's kinda pointless and doesn't really make sense to say "Fuck you ." over a forum.
That's like some Youtube steaze.
:)

I tend express how I feel without candy-coating it... there's no point.

if anyone took offense to the language, I'm not sorry. I regret nothing as that is, i believe, the only way to live your life.

What i'm ultimately trying to get across is that the majority of people don't know jack when it comes to what is REALLY happening around them... I'm not claiming that I know everything, either... but I do know I am privy to more than most...

well the reason i said that black people and some white people are looking for something different is because....weather you like it or not for some people race is and was the only issue for voting or not voting for him. i didn't vote for him because he was black.....I voted for him because there was no fucking way i would vote for anyone who would continue Bushes policies or someone who would blindly pick a crazy bitch for his running mate. had Hillary won the democratic nomination, I would have voted for her. for anyone to say we all voted for him because he was black, I think may have some small deep racist views. why else bring up that point? black people have been voting for years and for democrats. so why is that now the democrat happend to be a black man, that's the reason we voted for him. he or she could have been from mars, if he was a democrat the chances of black people voting for him would have been in the great numbers. you can disrespect me all you want with the "fuck you"s and calling me ignorant, but the truth remains, black Americans and a whole lotta white Americans spoke.

I'm pretty sure nobody in this thread stated that "everyone" referring to you saying "all of us" voted for him because he was black.

I can't speak for everyone, but I was simply stating that race was a major factor for a lot of people in this election. It wasn't for me at all. I still wouldn't have voted for him if he was white, purple, or blue.

Internet is funny...Not everything is so black and white, but people become so heated with others that they have never met in their lives!

It's a forum gents, friendly disagreements FTW!!!
