October Tide lyrics

Hi all fans of Katatonia, and especially October tide, as I am looking for the lyrics for both of their albums. I tried to find them somewhere on the net, but I found only Grey Dawn and Loosing Tomorrow songs' lyrics. And with my english I'm not able to recognize, what they are singing about (and maybe it is not only my english that makes it a bit difficult ). I like October Tide albums very much, and think, that the lyrics are worthy to understand. So would some helpful person who has or knows or can it find somewhere be here? Thank you ! !

Unfortunately they aren't. On other pages with lyrics, there are only the two songs - GD and LT.

if you search for an old post, I have posted what I believe to be the lyrics to October Tide's To Die Without Strength [featured only on their demo].

I'm working on deciphering the lyrics to RWE... I have Blue Gallery lyrics finished as well as Ephemeral and Infinite Submission so far.

I'll try and post what I have so far on this thread soon.

Strange, that October Tide didn't release the lyrics. Maybe contacting Jonas if he has the lyrics and is able to post then here is not so bad idea. Maybe I could try finding some mail which leads to him. Or I can help you with the Grey Dawn album, if somebody corrects it then .

Thanks Jinn for deciphering the lyrics. You are very good at this. I'm suggesting some things I heard differently from you.

For EPHEMERAL:

-> I couldn’t see you through all the rain
I think its - I couldn’t see her through all the rain

-> It’s like awaiting
The end of the world
Here in this day?
The end of the world
"here in this day" to me sounds like "he'll sustain"

For BLUE GALLERY
-> "The winds of time
There is a ghostly morgue
Painted (?pain is?) the day
All the casts of blue
I got us flowers for my second doom"

I think its "the ways of time" instead of "winds of time"
and I hear "pain is my day, haunting cast of moon"
(btw, "I got us flowers for my second doom".. what a nice line..)

The tidings of doom"

I hear: I fear white ghosts like me in the tidings of october. It makes more sense to me.

-> "Break my wings
I’ve lost it all"

Haha.. I've always heard it as: "drink my wieners, i've lost it all!" and I thought Jonas couldn't possibly mean that..

For SIGHTLESS

I hear the first 4 lines as:

I saw a sign
somewhere outside
by a depth inside?
I am blinded

Couldn't really decipher the rest.

I think you're right about the first one... I couldn't see her through all the rain

Although I'm not buying 'he'll sustain the end of the world' because the title of the song is Ephemeral, which means 'a lifespan of one day'. Since the verse and the song is describing a person with one day left to live, I don't think it fits that 'he'll sustain'... ya know

As for Blue Gallery, I believe you're right about 'the ways of time'.

As far as the second verse, I think it's 'painted the day, a haunting cast of moon' kinda seems right, as Renkse used the same lyrical element of 'painting' in the song Grey Dawn with the lyrics 'I painted with rain the sight of the daybreak'

After listening to the other verse, I'm starting to think that it's 'I fear white ghosts like me, in the tiding's October... cuz I'm not hearing the 'of october'... it's just 'tiding's october'

[Break my wings I've lost it all] heh, that one confused the hell out of me and I'm still not sure I have it right.


and the first three lines of Sightless, I'm not hearing the same thing, but hey, your guess is as good as mine...




oh, and if you happen to possess October Tide's demo, maybe you can give me your opinion on my attempt at the lyrics of To Die From Strength

You've got an ear for growls as well! I appreciate your input, as do other OT fans [i hope]

these growls are a bitch to decipher,been trying my ear on my personal fave,Sightless,mainly the chorus,pitch shifting programs on winamp help,some other effects also emphasize words previously muffled,heres what ive been able to come up with,the chorus part sounds too mystical to be content for their lyrics but its the best I could make out,any corrections would be greatly appreciated as im sure these are wrong,hope they end up leading someone in the right direction in one way shape or form,this effort must be completed !!
