I am a pretty good multitasker. I can listen to music, drink a beer, search the net and organize my desktop practically at the same time, but once in a while I screw up. I type fast enough that I don't need to look up favorites as opposed to typing in a web address. I wanted to come here while doing about three other things, so I typed in www.oldschool.com by accident. It pulled up a cool website.
That also made me think of another cool website. www.makersmark.com which is an American (Kentucky) bourbon website. While I am well known to drink a few too many beers at one time, I rarely drink liquor. This is the big exception though. This is not only some of the best whiskey money can buy, it is a great handmade tradition that has been around for many years. The website is very interesting even if you are not an alchohol drinker. The Maker's Mark distillery (place where liquor is made) is a United States National Landmark and it is not made much differently than it was over 165 years ago.

And even if by general rule I don't drink alcohol if the situation arise I'll be glad to join my siblings at PPVII with a screwdriver (no, not the tool) or a generous wine.

Me loves the whiskey. Usually just the well variety but when i was stationed
at Redstone Arsenal in huntsville i used to make the trip up too Lynchburg
TN to the Jack Daniels distillery kind of ironic they make JD in a dry county

Haha, we had some laughs with the guys of Benedictum; they were drinking Belgian "Duvel" beer (that's "Devil" in Dutch)..I warned them it was no Bud Light they were consuming....The next day no one wanted some from me !!

Weow, Cool you know 'm Belgian Beers...Chimay is cincidered to be one of the best of our over 1500 beers !!

I like Duval as well. I prefer the Abbey ales though. Of course we can't get the real monk stuff over here and if I could I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway. The triple Bornem ale is quite tasty. The Austijn is quite good as well.
Chimay and Duval are available in the US (though you have to know where to look for it.) THe ones I mentioned are also available here as well. A real beer enthusiast will certainly be familiar with Begian, American (micro brews only,) Irish and German brews.
Next year, when you come to Prog Power, you and Hawk will be treated to the finest local Atlanta Georgia brews. They are very good I might add.

I don't typically drink screwdrivers, but if you don't mind grapefruit juice in place of orange, I have been known to drink an occasional "salty dog" which is simply salt, grapefruit juice and spirits (my choice being Tanqueray London dry gin.) I also like a Bloody Mary as well. I use V-8 juice as opposed to tomato and again Tanqueray and a generous squirt of hot sauce.
If either of those sound inviting let me know and I will pick the ingredients up.

Some is. The micro brewery explosion a few years ago fueled an explosion of availability of other, less known foreign beers. There's several liquor stores here that carry so many beers that it's impossible to try them all.

There's about five breweries (four micro and one Budweiser) within five miles of where I work. One of them is the New Belgium(!) brewery.

My wife went to Germany for a few weeks several years ago for work. She can't stand the watered down main American brews anymore. That's what sent us on a search for beer for her. Me? I'll take a Coors Light after mowing the lawn on a hot day.

I've written down Chimay so that I can look for it the next time I'm at one of the bigger liqour stores.

So basically every country but mine is filled with breweries ?
I have found myself a small breweries that produces its own beer and I usually hand there but I also enjoy some wide manufactured beers and I only drink whisky and tequila when they don’t serve any beer.

I wish they imported Parkbrau over here they had a beer similar

I have a bad experience with gin, but niow knowing better I can be tempted to a Gin^2 (gin with ginger ale). I pass definitively on a Bloody Mary (hate tomato juice or alike), but if a Screwdriver is not appealing I can settle for a White Russian
