Official Hauls thread!

Went to Metal Haven yesterday. Here's what I got:
Lizzy Borden - Visual Lies (okay, Al got this for me)
Edguy - Tinnitus Sanctus
Brainstorm - Metis Mortus
Rhapsody - Reign of a Thousand Flames EP
Tyr - How Far to Asgart reissue

I don't care what fans are saying, Tinnitus Sanctus is a rockin' album. It is most definitely NOT "Rocket Ride pt. II."

LOL! no problem!

...the only real reason I even heard about that band, was through our good friend Mr. Luna, who is also a HUGE FM fan. I think it started with me finding a copy of A.S.A.P.'s album (which also has members of FM in it) and I totally loved it! ...and Mr. Luna told me that if I liked A.S.A.P, I should check out FM, which was along the same AOR style that I fancy so much.

I love Indescreet, as well as the self-titled album, in fact I think they are both very underated albums and absolute AOR classics. I'm still trying to track down their other albums, but they seem to either be very hard to find, or VERY expensive to aquire.
Hah, cool! I heard of it, since I'm a huge fan of Iron Maiden and they did a cover of That Girl. And an msn-contact said "Hey, have you heard the original? Adrian was friends with the band etc. so they did a cover of one of the songs" and I ended up actually preferring the original, so since I couldn't find the full album, I found a download of it somewhere and ended up digging the shit out of it. Some amazing songs on there, not to mention Chris Overland being an awesome lead guitarist! /rambles

And yeah, Silver And Gold is really cool. I love the leadbreak in Misunderstood.

Hm, since you're an AOR-fan, I should ask, how familiar are you with Private Life? :)

This has been since the beginning of February, so these are actually a couple of mini hauls. But I did not want my puny buys to seem inadequate next to Dustin's :heh::lol:. Haul envy I guess you can say...

Shadow Gallery - Digital Ghosts

Crap… I’m embarrassed to say, I still need to get this one!

Hourglass - Oblivious to the Obvious (2CD)
Hourglass - Subconscious

Sweet! These guys are good friends of Katagory V! Personally, and although I feel these guys are over-the-top fantastic, Subconscious is the better of those two albums for me. It’s a bit more focused and has a bit more song/hook emphasis. OttO is a bit too much for me to digest. There’s a lot of great riffs and movements in the album, and Mike’s vocals are killer! But, it’s not something I can listen to without getting totally lost after 10-15 minutes in each song. In my opinion, these guys would be unstoppable if they could do one or two epic songs and 4 or 5 shorter, more song oriented tracks to break things up in an album.

Sacred Dawn - Gears of the Machine…A New Beginning
Order Of Nine - A Means to Know End
Warmachine - The Beginning Of The End
Narnia - Course of a Generation
Futures End - Memoirs of a Broken Man
Six Minute Century - Time Capsules

These are some of the crème del la crème of the Nightmare Roster, good choices!

Steel Assassin - In Hellfire Forged

I’ve always wanted to check out Steel Assassin… but haven’t got around to it yet. I think it’s about time I did so.

Orphaned Land - The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR

This ones on my list to get really soon!

Katagory V - The Rising Anger
Katagory V - Hymns of Dissension
Katagory V - A New Breed Of Rebellion

This is what I call a quality purchase! EXCELLENT!!! YOur only missing the first album... which we hope to one day re-release one day in the future.

LOL!!! Well, in all honesty, mine are usually mini hauls all combined as well. :saint:

Dustin, I don't suppose the re-release will also be a re-recording? I much prefer the old stuff with Al's vocals. No offense meant to Lynn, but his vocal quality just isn't something I'm a fan of.

My haul:
Edenbridge - some sort of 2disc B-sides set, I forget the name
Battlelore - Sword's Song

That's the most recent purchase, anyway. I've bought a bunch of other music since ProgPower, but I don't remember all of it. XD

I do remember buying these a few months ago:
Satrianni - Surfing with the Alien
Sonata Arctica - Days of Grays

But I don't recall offhand anything else, without digging through the CDs in my car, and the ones on the kitchen table.

I think you should start with "From the Vaults", a compilation of all their early stuff. The album that Ken mentions is a new release with re-recorded old tunes with their new vocalist, who has a totally different style than Doni Escolas.

My recent peurchases (to stay on topic):

Ted Nugent - Cat Scratch Fever
Chastain - In An Outrage
