Official Off Topic Thread

I was cleaning the storage room where all shit of my older sister's is etc.
So I found a box full of cassettes, most of them being pretty normal tapes of whatever my sister listened to 10 years ago (which seriously wasn't metal, more like, Alanis Morrisette or U2 or something), but then there is an unopened plastic package there and inside there is A DEMO TAPE OF A TURKISH BLACK METAL BAND, Pagan - Heathen Upheaval (1998).
C'mon dude, who doesn't go through a Turkish Black Metal phase at some point, it's like a rite of passage.

(side story about that.) there's this guy Brian Gay, and he's running for NY State Congress. His signs say "Gay For Congress". Awesome.
dear god, you're right

this is pretty funny (video does not work embedded you need to click to youtube link to see it)
 Could that actually have been for real?

So, I have returned... :)

Did I miss much? Is Symphony X coming to Australia yet?

Lets see:

-Thanks to all those well-wishes for my Uncle and Grandpa RE: The holdup... I only just got back from holiday, so I'll see how it all is tomorrow...

-congrats to Ken, awesome mate!

-I'm glad Mark is ok, but its a shame about the car, looked pretty nice...

Now to try and catch up on all the unread threads...

This should be a warning for me... The last few weeks, driving to work, I've been mighty tired. I guess it's easier to fall asleep at the wheel than expected...

Glad you're okay, man, and congrats, Ken! Hope all goes well!

New Govt initiative in Australia
First home buyers will be eligible for grants of up to $21,000 designed to stimulate housing activity.

The scheme will be time limited. All contracts entered into by June 30 next year will be eligible for the new assistance.

The payment under the first home buyers scheme will be doubled from $7,000 to $14,000 and first home buyers who buy newly-constructed home will receive an extra $14,000 taking their total grant to $21,000.

woo-fucking-hoo! seems i will be saving $14-21K on my newly constructed house....glad i didn't sign the contract last week :)

Saw Overkill last night. Mostly went because my buddies Warbringer were opening... their singer is an Ice and Fire reader, which I did not realize until last night. I've known him for about a year, but I was never close to sober while hanging out with him so none of the memories really stuck. Yay for GRRM.

Overkill sounded great. I'm not incredibly familiar with their stuff, but the sound was good and they played really tight.

I slept on a kitchen floor. :)
